10,000 people each with $250 is much better. That's the thinking that makes all the big, successful organizations in the world.

Show me one successful organization that started with the 100/$25,000 model.

Oh wait, that's how successful businesses start out. So I'll give them that.

But successful religions, movements, or social organizations? Can't think of one.

I've driven past the Bellingham (WA) misson a number of times, as recent as today, and have never seen more than one car in the parking lot.

This mission was featured in a fairly recent Centre mag for all the great dissem they did. I think the MH is Carolyn(?) Gagen.

Picking a US mission to feature in the mag must be tough as they are mostly in the dumps so that's why you see stuff about the new group in Ethiopia, since a picture with two smiling students is much more in PR in a pioneer country, than the same two students (actually staff pretending to be students) at ______ (pick a US city) Mission.

I hate to say "I told you so" (actually I love it } BUT...

Apparently the SuperPower scam isn't the only building project
Scientology is using to suck cash out of its members' wallets. The
Seattle Org is one of about 20 orgs trying to raise funds for an
"Ideal Org" renovation project. As related in the email below, INT
Management has decided to shakedown these groups for $350,000 each.
The money comes off the top of any local fundraising efforts and must
be remitted immediately. And it looks like other payment demands may
follow.


Scientology is bleeding its members to death. Nice work, Poodle-boy.

We have just been informed by Management of a change in how the rest of the
Ideal Org projects are to be carried out and we want to ensure this data is
duplicated by our entire field. As we have informed you earlier an
international project management firm has been retained by the Church of
Scientology International to manage the Ideal Org renovation projects
worldwide including ours here in Seattle. While this is still the case we
have just been informed that a second firm has been retained to handle the
architectural and design aspects of these projects. This firm will be
responsible for the entire architectural and design aspect of our project in
Seattle. Besides us there are about 19 other Orgs at the stage of having
bought a building and ready to get started on plans. Each Org is required to
make a payment of $350,000 to get started. As these plans are required
before any renos can begin and they will take some time to do, the money is
needed now. Up to this point our priority has been to pay off our mortgage
but due to this shift in plans we are now going to raise this money to get
the plans moving forward as priority #1. Doing this ensures we will stay in
the next wave of Ideal Orgs and not fall to a later group. We want to get
this project done now, not in a year or two.


We are therefore asking everyone to do all they can to back this up. If you
have a pledge, do all you can to make it good now. We will be doing
everything possible to have fundraisers contact you but do not wait for

Yes, CofS bought the building earlier this year. I posted some pix of it on a.b.s. and posted a thread about it on OCMB at that time and also posted some information about the fundraising they did to get into the building in the first place.

They still haven't moved into it, because uplines is evidently enforcing the stricture that it become an "ideal org". Their rented building is on a major street out here and I drive by it a couple times a month. They're still n there.

They are doing major fundraisers in Seattle for their new building. Some nights they have raised half a million dollars. One night they raised a million, no kidding. It was a combination of a few prominant families, Bartells and Stoners, that got together and decided to mortgage their houses to donate some big bucks.

They bought the builing, but now they need money for renos.

Are those Bartell as in Bartell Drug Store? Scientologists part of a pharmacy owning chain?

Has anyone been by the building in Seattle on Aurora? They tried to get me in the door a number of times. They have also rented vacant buildings in the U District to showcase their spin on modern psychiatry including flyers, films and interactive stations. I would like to raid outside their building if anyone is interested.
