Shawn, I've gotten Scientology to spend money on P.I.'s and lawyers to try and shut down my critic websites. You've gotten them to buy a house! Way to go brother! LOL!

AMEN to that, Fred! Very Happy

Sounds to me like they want to buy the house so they can evict you.

Very vindictive fair-gamism.

What does this remind me of.......... ah, this

This is the sort of war Scientology is waging: from the connecting the dots department....

My single biggest client used to be a music store on Wilson Blvd, ALL-STAR Music
He used to send me $400 a week of repair work which I would do in a day perhaps two per week Then he got an offer to buy his store, he just said 'they were 'two guys from Florida.' and it was a great offer that he could not refuse, so he sold them his business However, what is very odd, is that the shop closed up for a long time, then reopened months later as an ice-cream shop? I found him sometime later managing an Egghead. As if he signed an agreement not to reenter the music business. and he *still* wont talk about it the deal...

If Shawn has no lease they can give him 30 day notice period. Otherwise he could sue the current landlord fror breaking the lease. In that case Scientologys usual tack is a contract wth the seller to pay the judgement and costs.

Do you think for one moment Mr. Peterman is using his own money for this little real estate venture? Naaahhh... No way! I'd lay odds he's been approached by OSA to assist them in a "great project" that will not only make every one "upstat", but also "strike a blow against an enemy of the church", give "the greatest good across the greatest number of dynamics" and "shatter suppression" for good measure. I'd further guess that Mr. Peterman will be provided funds to do all these great "ethical" acts.

It'll probably become like DSOS's MySpace site... Vacant and squatted on... until it can be turned into berthing for visiting Swine-tologists.

Scientology in a nutshell, divide and conquer, youve got it pegged Prevail. Just like the hijacking of TDSOS' URL being divided from her, so is Shawns house apparently going to be divided from him.

I dont know how the system works in the States, but Renters here are heavily protected to the point, that if a Tenant doesnt want to move out, it will take Court Orders and considerable time for it to happen.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll check it out sooner than later now.

With Clearwater, I just picture it as this scieno ridden town with stress tests on every corner. Empty office buildings used as RPF dungeons. Dianetic books in all the gas stations and volunteer ministers as the crossing guards for the elementary school children.

Maybe I'm off a little lol

I visit Clearwater occasionally and its really not THAT bad. There is an area of maybe a square mile in downtown that contains the Ft. Harrison, the SP Building, the local mission, the Sandcastle, the Bank of Clearwtaer(their dining hall), SeaOrg housing and a lot of businesses that I would imagine are owned by Scientologists, but outside of there, you don't see many traces of them.

Shawn.........

Here's the deal: Yes, you *could* move, but truthfully, they'll just keep at it, although T is probably correct, the farther away, the easier it should be.

However, IF you want to stay in the Clearwater area, please keep in mind the vast majority of locals SERIOUSLY DISLIKE Scientology and Scientologists.

SO? Find some landlords on your side, and this shall not keep occurring.
Ask around....see if some of them shall help you. It's a HUGE upset with most of the locals, as they too were jacked around and for the most part, squeezed out of "Downtown Clearwater" by Scientology. Shocked

It IS a very big area.....so there are many areas some distance off, but close enough to still do your thing, such as Tampa, Brandon, Dunedin, etc.

I used to live there, so I know the area.

Good luck, and stay safe! Wink

AND they would like to see Shawn continue video'ing them as a payback for -their- hundreds of offensive 'security' cams. There's even one with teleoptics at the top of one of their buildings trained on the police station fegossake!

St. Pete Times needs this story!

Bay area tops survey of least affordable regions

A study says that compared to other areas, residents spend more on housing and transportation.

The Tampa Bay area is the least affordable large metro area in the nation based on the cost of housing and getting around, according to a study released Tuesday.

An average of 57.7 percent of household expenditures here goes toward housing and transportation, the study says. That leaves less for things like retirement savings, health care and college funds.

Miami area households came in next, spending 57.5 percent. San Diego households came in No. 3, Atlanta No. 4.

Pittsburgh households, the study says, spend least on transportation and housing: 45.8 percent.

The study, "Driven to Spend," focuses on transportation costs. It says Tampa Bay residents spend 20.4 percent of household budgets just getting around. That's the fourth highest percentage among the nation's most populous metro areas.

But combine the transportation costs with housing costs, and the Tampa Bay area climbs to No. 1, says the report. It was produced by two nonprofit think tanks, the Surface Transportation Policy Project in Washington, D.C. and the Center for Neighborhood Technology, based in Chicago.

.............

The Tampa Bay area sucks as a place to live unless you are independently wealthy, own your own business or are a medical doctor. The wages of a normal working person are like that of a third world country. Meanwhile housing prices are inflated to up to 200% over other places in the country.

Not only that, because of all the hurricanes, homeowner's insurance is out the roof, if you can get it at all. Most insurance companies won't insure houses in Florida any more that are near the coastal regions.

There is almost no white collar professional businesses. If you can get a job at all, it will usually be with some tiny mom and pop company. You can forget "professional advancement". How can you advance in a company that employs six people?

IMO. it's not a viable place to live even if you are employed and have nothing to do with Scientology. If you are unemployed and have the church after you, I can't imagine staying thre.

Hay Magoo, what is this piece of spurious data based on?

But whether this is true or not, the bottome line seems to be that Scientology and Scientologists are working hard to make Clearwater a SCIENTOLOGY ZONE.

They are good at dealing with pests. Vermin. Crabgrass in their own front yard.

A) Living there in 1979 and helping the "Guardian's Office" "Handle" the vast public out doing things like "Honk out Scientology", "Stamp out Scientology", "Save Sparkling Clearwater, Stamp out Scientology" run by Richard Tinney. The Clearwater public were picketing all day long, etc. I was one of the people they sent out to try to communicate with the Clearwater public, and believe me, that was an eye opener.

B) In 2000....going around surveying the neighbors of Scientology, finding out how they felt then. Again, many still SERIOUSLY dislike Scientology.

Scientology would like people to *think* it's their city: It isn't. Scientology did take over downtown Clearwater, and as a result, many people moved out farther...to get away from them....but there's a huge area that is still "Clearwater", it just isn't downtown.

Don't believe me, Shawn, go survey the people yourself and ask them:

"How do you feel about Scientology?"

"Are you happy Scientology has taken over downtown Clearwater?"

"If you knew someone trying to expose Scientology's abuses, and C of S was making sure they had no place to live here, how would you feel about that?"

(If they're pro what you're doing....)

"Do you know of anyone who feels like you do, and rents out apts?"

There ya go. Good luck with it Wink Bring a notebook so you can write down any suggestions.

Have a great day!

Magoo is right, PB.

The funny thing is that the Church has spoke out of both sides of its mouth on this one.

There have been media reports from the church about the "great relationship" they have with Pinellas County.

But when the McPherson trial was being held there, it was a different story.

Church moves to relocate civil trial
Lawyers for the Church of Scientology again say that media reports have turned Tampa Bay against them.
By ROBERT FARLEY

Published June 27, 2003

The Church of Scientology says that media coverage of the landmark Lisa McPherson wrongful death case has turned back the clock to days of "overt hate mongering and media-fueled public animus" and it can no longer get a fair trial in Tampa Bay.

The church on Wednesday filed a motion seeking to move the wrongful death trial to either Palm Beach or Broward county.

Church attorneys blame a "barrage of negative media coverage" about the lawsuit for widespread community prejudice against Scientology, documented in a random survey of shoppers at Tyrone Square Mall in early spring.

And the culprit for much of that negativity, the motion argues, is the repeated inclusion of "inflammatory and unethical" quotes from Ken Dandar, the attorney for the estate of McPherson, a Scientologist who died in 1995 after 17 days in the care of the church in Clearwater.

"For six years Dandar has made outrageous claims, accusing Flag (the church's Clearwater entity) of "capturing' and then "imprisoning' Lisa McPherson, then torturing and intentionally causing Lisa McPherson's death - indeed murdering her," the motion states. "Yet Dandar knew all of these allegations to be utterly false and eventually they were found to be false by judges."

Dandar stood by his statements Thursday.

"They need to get in the no-spin zone," he said.

Dandar said the church's attempt to move the trial is aimed at running up his expenses in hopes it will persuade the estate to settle the lawsuit.

Last month, the church cited the same mall survey in seeking to move a related breach of contract case out of Pinellas County. The church withdrew its motion two weeks later after Judge W. Douglas Baird offered to remove himself from that case because he is married to a Tampa Tribune reporter and socializes with employees of both the Tribune and the St. Petersburg Times.

According to the motion filed Wednesday, decades-old community prejudice against Scientology had "subsided markedly" prior to Dandar filing the wrongful death suit. "To the extent the tide had been turning by 1997, however, this case changed matters," the motion states.

Attached to the motion are copies of hundreds of newspaper articles, editorials and letters to the editor - enough to fill a shopping cart - which contain, the motion states, "derogatory content of one kind of another on Scientology."

"The cumulative effect is a broad and hostile public perception of Flag and Scientology with respect to the death of Lisa McPherson," the motion states.

Shawn,

That really sucks. You might want to begin searching for a new place now. See if your current landlord will give you a good reference.

Do you have a security deposit on account with your landlord? You might want to see if he can return it to you before escrow closes on the sale, as I think you'll have a harder time getting it back from the buyer. And I'm sure the cult would love to see you wasting your time in small claims court trying recover your security deposit, because it takes away from the time you can be filming downtown and doing other things to expose the scam.

Keep up the good fight.

Magoo, you were there in '79?

THAT'S 27 YEARS AGO!

How many more members have moved down since then?

How many more scientology businesses?

Ya'll might be eating crow when they open the vast new super power
building and people flock from all over the world to take up residence in
the premier scientology city!
