If anybody is tying Scientology to the death of this young Catholic man, it should be discussed with the family, and this thread should be referred to the bereavement counselor, along with information about the dangers of Scientology.

I would also advise that you keep a screen copy of the IP info and the admin log showing when this person logged on, and from whence he came to OCMB.

Allegations of a death being caused by religious fanatacism to a religion the dead person seems not to belong to is very suspicious, IMO. The family should be informed that their son is targeted by someone claiming that he was a Scientology martyr.

It would be very much like $cientology to see if they can get critics to jump all over a death that has NOTHING TO DO WITH $cientology.

Then they can use that to blow smoke about how the critics “are prone to overreact.”

EXACTLY! I would send all documented info to the church. But it would have to be documented.

OH I forgot to mention that I have seen fake OBITS, so the church should be contacted to see if it is a real obit. Andreas can substantiate that he received the message which came from somebody who KNEW OF THE DEATH. Andreas can probably document the ISP that message was sent from.

Regardless, any targeting by the cult of Scientology of a dead young man should be brought to the attention of his family! Somehow, this person was interested in the young man's death and this is CREEPY. If the intent is to discredit Andreas, Andreas can cover his ass by presenting the EVIDENCE that this message came from ELSEWHERE than HIS network of associates.

That is why I suggested contacting the bereavement counselor or the pastor to present them with this, along with the evidence that it happened, and information regarding the abuses of Scientology.

How can any person be faulted for being careful?

How terribly tragic this is! Thank you for posting this.

My sis took Lexapro, goddamn that shrink who picked up his prescription pad to sentence her to that without even consulting her! She became suicidal on the drugs prescribed to cure her "chemical imbalance". She wasn't suicidal BEFORE taking all these "chemicals"!!!

In no way do I mean to validate Scientology. I am saying that these days, dangerous drugs of ALL KINDS are being OVERPERSCRIBED. It's really about capitation in insurance coverage and the greed of the Pharmaceutical companies, not about the shrinks who think they are doing the "right thing". These shrinks are just like Scientologists who think they are doing the "right thing" by telling someone with ovarian cancer to do the Purification Rundown.

I now suspect that some Scientologist(s) is/are using this young man's death to pad their case against psychiatry because it appears on the surface that someone died while being treated with psyche meds. The person who wrote to Andreas may not even know of the family except by having found the link that Desert Rain posted. Nevertheless, intimate knowledge of any family's internal plight should be investigated if it is related to any dangerous cult activity or posted about on the internet by an anonymous stranger!

As for this young man being a martyr to the Scientology cause- only people ignorant of psychiatry could buy it. I have had wonderful psychiatrists who NEVER whipped out their prescription pads or insisted that I get electrodes strapped to my cranium. They TALKED to me. Because my problems, as well as my sister's problems DIRECTLY resulted from being the child of a dangerous, sociopathic conman like L. Ron Hubbard!!!

This kid's family has been through a wringer. I am appalled that some grotty, weasley little Scientologist is trying to exploit their misery towards the benefit of DM.

Psychiatry is medicine. As such it is evolving, in transition and imperfect.

People are prescribed the wrong cancer drugs too and die. Some doctors misdiagnosis patients and they needlessly suffer for years.

None of that argues for holding two tin cans hooked to a voltameter and “auditing away” clingy, brainwashed space-alien ghosts that trace back to the evil warlord Xenu and his ever reincarnating band of 'psychs' all because a dead science fiction writer said so.

Gawd, I am jaded. Yes of course that is possible and even probable.

I spoke too quickly. In my life I have only seen people who got BOLLOXED UP on MISPRESCRIBED MEDS! I am soooo paranoid of doctors because of this! I could rattle off case after case!

Really, everybody who takes any prescription med should google it. Your doctor will NOT tell you about interactions, side effects, and contraindications. You need to do your due diligence before you put anything into your body! Even supermarket produce which is covered with malathion! If your meds don't seem to work, don't soldier it out, get a second or a third or a fourth opinion! Research research research! If you are taking psych meds, get a buddy to monitor your progress in case you can't tell you are getting weirder.

That having been said, I am certain that there must be people for whom psych meds were APPROPRIATELY PRESCRIBED. Not anybody I know, but people I have read about, and who testify that psych meds worked for them. People like Brooke Shields who took them for Post Partum Depression, which is a real chemical imbalance and not something that could be made better by talking to a friend about it. Smitty's sis suffered from Post Partum Depression that was diagnosed as Schizophrenia!!! And they pumped her full of all the wrong drugs!!! And she got WORSE!!! So you really need an advocate if you are taking psyche meds, or a doctor who really cares and listens.

OY!!! I just have a very bad outlook on this because my personal experience is bad! But that doesn't mean all psychiatry is bad or invalid. It means some practitioners are more interested in the bottom line than in really caring for their patients. And that happens in any profession. It's just a lot scarier when the people doing it are claiming to have your best interests at heart (like Scientology).

Thank you Desert Rain for bringing up this TRUTH, that MANY PEOPLE who go OFF THEIR MEDS also go OFF THEIR HEADS.

Regardless, its very fishy none the less. I have to agree with Desert, it seems more likely they told his to stop taking his medication and yeah something went horribly wrong.

I spent years and years (30 really) fighting Scientology, with people "in" thinking and telling me I needed to get off of the medication I take that successfully controls Epilepsy. No, it isn't a Psych medication, as told by my Doctor, Dr. Denk, who was Hubbard's doctor and literally helped save my life, giving me the medication I so much needed, dispite the vast majority of "Higher ups" telling me I needed to get off of it. (I haven't had a seizure in 20 years, thanks to this medication). He's gone now, too, along with many, many other Scientologists.

As I've posted, I know of 7 young men who were all Scientologists, most who wanted out of Scientology or had one parent "in" and one parent out....and each took their own lives. Would Psych drugs have helped them? We'll never know, as they're D E A D. I do know I cannot stand people who are not trained medically, telling people to not take medicines their doctors have perscribed. (I don't mind like O's saying get a second opinion. Scientologists never say that: They just say/imply you *should* be able to get off of the needed medication). If anything got me out of Scientology---it was that.

I saw a great show on OPRAH while I was "in". It was a show on one of the popular psych drugs that Scientology always rails against: Prozak.
Half of the people had a loved one who took it, and they did have horrible effects. The other half had loved ones, or themselves, who had taken this medicine, and it saved their lives. So.....I think it's an individual thing. One thing I know: It's an individual thing, and NO ONE should be put down for taking any medication they need. PERIOD.

Re Kyle Brennan, I pray he wasn't related to Annette Brennan (now married, diff name) or her x-husband, Gary Brennan. Both are Scientologists, last I knew. I'm not sure if either has a 20 year old son...but I hope it wasn't their child. Whose ever it was, and for the young man himself...... I'm sorry for he and his family.

I would never know what to do if someone successfully got my brother to stop taking his meds. Thats a very scary thought. I've been with him through the ups and downs of his illness and I have seen him off and on his meds.

They would NEVER ~scienos that is~ last 5 minutes in a room with my brother off his meds. What Scientologists are doing is wrong! They have no authority to tell you not to take your medication!




Quite right Tory, not all people react to the same meds the right way because everyone is different is unique..

And may I add something here? I've contemplated this but what if being on meds is and indivual thing and Scientology obviously doesn't like individuals... maybe thats why they are so against meds? I guess its food for thought
