During a week when anti-$cientology sites are getting tons of visitors because of the BBC Panorama program, TheDarkSideOfAtheism uses ocmb.xenu.net as a platform to discuss her hatred for Christianity. Any good that has come out of her activities on myspace has now been mitigated by the fact that many Christians who visited the board this week and might have decided to help expose $cientology will now think that $cientology critics are almost as hateful as $cientologists in that they want to eradicate religion like $cientologists want to eradicate psychiatry.
Atheist fundamentalists are a particularly nasty bunch because they fail to realize that they have become what they despise. I work with one of them and he's just like a religious fundamentalist because he pushes his hatred for Christianity on anyone who's willing to listen to him. After one encounter, most people avoid him like the plague. Having dealt with his BS for almost one year, I recently confronted him. He said "Hey, RIPODB. I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about all the Christians who push their religion on me. I don't have any problem with Christians like you. Heck, I didn't even know you were a Christian". He then continued his tirade against all things Christianity as if he hadn't listened to a word I just said and the irony of his doing to me what he hates done to him just flew right over his head. That's the mark of a true fundamentalist.
PS. To all the lurkers: Just because the critic community is rife with anti-religious extremists, that doesn't mean Co$ isn't an international crime syndicate disguised as a religion. Do your part to expose the cult even if that means working solo.
PPS. I'm no fan of Jerry Falwell. Mixing religion with politics is a MAJOR no no in my book, but I'd never start a thread about him on OCMB because it is OFF TOPIC and it gives the atheist fundamentalists a chance to make the critic community look even worse. The owner of this site is a kind an honorable man who happens to be an atheist, but he doesn't use his anti-$cientology site as a venue to push his beliefs on others. Too bad they can't follow his example.
Well, being America will be an Atheist/Agnostic majority in about 50 years, that won't matter much, now will it? There are 850 million "non-believers" worldwide. I never talk religion in the workplace, only an idiot would, most Christians fit in this category. At my work, most of the people here have Bible verses and pictures of Jesus on their desks, yet that is appropriate, right?
I've tried to create a Myspace profile, for them to discuss Scientology and for them to see Scientology is anti-Christianity. You know what, they don't care. It is the least successful profile I have had on Myspace. My largest was close to 10,000 friends, when it was shut down. I can't even get 50 on the Christian/Scientology profile. I would say the majority of people trying to put an end to Scientology are Atheists. Or are atleast the ones who put some sort of effort into it. Instead of typing on a messageboard complaining about Scientology, but too busy sitting on their asses to actually DO anything.
