The Dekalb police wanted a meeting with a "spokesperson" because they were about to start arresting the whole group for dust mask violations. I went over to speak with them. When they were finished telling me what they wanted the group to know and I was about to come back, trying to maintain politeness, I offered to bring cold water to the troops. The lieutenant just smiled and said "No, we already have some". Now I know why.


I had a TV interview at the 2/10 protest with WSBTV News Ryan Young. He's a good guy. I've been in contact with him since. He knew about 3/15 but the tornadoes apparently pre-empted our coverage. He's receptive to emails so it doesn't have to come from me and he did the 2/10 coverage. He would be a good contact.

IDEA:
Next Altanta picket. Bring your parents (and grandparents if you can). Designate someones granny as the leader and giver her a bullhorn. Then see the cops dare arrest her. Take a few American flags and remind those cops what its all about.

We did. We had a huge 6 foot American flag and lots of little ones. They were ignored. We lost what the USA (is/was) about some time around eight years ago. I imagine from reading the news coming out of the UK, you guys are probably feeling the same thing.

The next protest could be a challenge. In the Entrib local forum there were a couple times rogues came in posting hostile messages. The group immediately stomped on them with the peaceful message. But now with Dekalb first creating then escalating tensions it's difficult to tell where it might lead. Hopefully a gap between picket events will allow time for the tensions to resolve. After such an epic (and fun) 2/10, I have to tell you 3/15 in Dekalb was a buzz-kill. Abet productive in that this is PR a million ($$) couldn't buy but the picket itself just didn't seem as fun.

As far as I can tell I haven't seen anything posted about the April Operation Reconnect involving a picket. Have I missed the release or will April be more of a media event? Has anyone heard when the next picket is planned world wide? If it is April 17th we've got work to do.

The permit issue is still a problem. My impression is they don't have or issue permits for a single citizen who wants to be at a certain location at a certain time. That, I'm learning when it was tried the ACLU out here has got the need for an individual to get a permit to protest squashed as unconstitutional. Only "organizations" planning events need one. Well... that's a problem.

I've volunteered to act as a messenger. A point of contact go-between if they had questions but they read the forums and know as much as I do. Outside being a messenger no single person is, or can act as a leader especially of a group that doesn't even fusking exist. The police can't issue a permit for a group that doesn't exist with a leaders name who isn't one and, they don't issue them to individuals. It's a catch 22. How it's going to resolve itself is yet to be seen.

I'm going to contact the ACLU and ask if they'd be interested sending a couple lawyers to the next event. Maybe that will solve the problem. That and Georgia is a one-party notification State for recording phone calls. The next protest I will call to get issued a personal protest permit. I will record them telling me one is not required. The bait and switch they did telling people they didn't need a permit, then arresting them for not having one will only work *once*. Actually it didn't work once, the charges will be thrown out of court. But with the recording, next time they'll be open to malicious prosecution civil charges.

The challenge with the next picket might be, assuming Dekalb plans on escalating it even further, will be remaining beyond reproach so not to give anonymous a bad name.

I called the Sheriff office down there yesterday...and left a disgruntled message saying.....nothing like that happened anywhere in the world during the protests...

They actually called me back this morning with a blah blah blah...but I think they are getting the message..

Monday: Monday is the day all County business offices are open. Time to make polite, but stern complaints that this police work was unacceptable and appeared to have a bias to Scientology. Time to put those few public officials on trial in the press for supporting Scientology w/o talking to reps of Anon.

Make the Chief defend his conduct. Be polite and firm. Let him have a face-saving out: People pretending to be Anons biased CoS and DeKalb and he was not able to sort it out in time. He erred on the side of toughness, but now he knows better as he has met with some Anons privately.

Be polite and it go better next time in DeKalb. People were mad over the weekend and now it is settling down.

Contact the ACLU as well as the media. What those police officers did and was way out of line. I am just glad the cops in phx were cool.

DeKalb County Sherif is saying it wasn’t them.

The Dunwoody GA Police say it was them, and the watch commander was Lieutenant Byron Holmes.

Do we have any idea if he is with Dekalb County Sheriff department?

Can anyone see from the videos whos departments was pulling people over?
Is it too much of a strech that the CoS would of brought in officers from some other area to act as their riot police. Then again with the arrest of the two anon members that did not seem to follow police proccedures are we sure these were cops?
I doubt that the CoS would try something that outraggious I can not put it past them.
