This is interesting. I also thought LRH was against abortions. But yet it is common practice in sea org? What if the girl doesn't want one? I know he compares it to infanticide(sp) and have read his garb. where he is talking about how it throws the womans hormones out of wack and is not good at all. That is crazy if they coerce the women to get abortions just because they don't want the extra burden at Sea org/FLAG.

The "extra burden" you speak of would cost money for decent childcare. Money Hubbard didn't want to spend on the "third dynamic." If money was spent on that "dynamic" it would have meant fewer hours in unpaid Sea Org labor = stats. And if the "3rd dynamic" was valued, then the "dynamics" in Hubbard's hierarchy of dynamics would be hurt.

What does it mean when a cult leader values the pack, or "8th dynamic" over a cultural unit (the family)?

It means families fall apart if they follow their natural instincts. Which instincts Hubbard needed to forcefully redirect toward so-called higher goals, saving the planet and all that crap. IOW, lining his pocket with their sweat and losses. So you can understand why L. Ron forced pregnant Sea Org couples who chose to keep their babies off to a "lower" org.

He was okay in that scenario though, wasn't he? He already had his kids. No one else's mattered.

"concern" for the individual.Several years ago, it used to be that if an SO
member became pregnant she would be shipped off to a class 4 org until the kid
was 6, at which point she could go back into the SO.The rule has been changed
by Executive Director Int. Guillame Leserve sp! Now, if they become pregnant
they are "routed-out" complete with free-loader bill.

The SO targets young girls aged 13-14 for recruitment. They frequenly marry at
15-16. They will remain capable of reproduction for at least 25 years. Sex
twice a week for that period = 2500 times. If birth control is 99.9%
effective, they will get pregnant at least twice. Then the Church will dump
them, bill them for all services taken, their husbands may chose to leave the
SO or stay in and abandon them. They will not have a high-school diploma or
college degree. How will they live and support a child if they chose to keep
it -welfare ? so despised by Hubbard as "downstat". Hubbard condems abortion
in Science of Survival, is it now official chuch policy ? "

This post answers my question about whether the abortion thing is still occurring. And it's from 2005, yet.

Bumping this thread, please read from page one, and please tell your own stories here. I will cut and paste them if you don't...but I will respect and hold you harmless and anonymous. It will mean more if you tell your own story in your own words even if anonymously. Many of you have very powerful feelings that do come across even in writing. I care, and many of us care and understand.

All my very heartfelt best,

Ladybird

Great link. Thanks Ladybird! Nice to see them interested in this gleefully sadistic SO practice. The fact that the management of the SO is so matter of fact about it is just more indications of level of scientology business brainwashing practice. The Catholics have no idea what they are getting themselves into though. I hope they are a bit proofed up for what kind of counter PR crap they about to get from OSA. :)

I hope CoS is ready to deal with a real church...one of the planet's largest and oldest.

I'd say the Catholic Church is so much stronger than Scientology that a stand-off between the two would not be to Organized Scientology's benefit, big time.

Quote:
The Catholic Church is the largest Christian church, encompassing over half of all Christians, and is the largest organized body of any world religion. Church membership exceeds 1.131 billion people.

Let CoS go all "medieval fair game" on the Catholic Church, their parishioners, and clergy and we'll see how well that works out for DM and OSA.

It's not only Catholic folk that have an interest in seeing the Sea Org forced abortion policy halted...it's a human rights abuse that everyone that learns about it will abhor. The only reason this policy has gone on and on is that no one much seems to know about it. Everyone that becomes aware of this will be outraged. Everyone.

Time to find a Planned Parenthood site and post about the CoS using the services of their organization as a cheap and cynical way to deny the human rights of the women of the Sea Org for years. Pro-Choice this Sea Org policy is NOT.

Pro-Choice...or...Pro-Life...Finally something both sides can agree on: Being Anti-Scientology.

I had two abortions while in the SO. One in 94 and second in 2000 (or 01, got my years mixed up).

Nobody held a gun to my head, but sometimes the gun seems less scary than the alternative, or so its made to seem that way.

I have so much regret about it. I should have never gone through with it!

The Catholic church is the largest and most powerful in the world pissing them off is a really, really bad idea.

Don't forget Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

A thread from ESMB about Sea Org men undergoing coerced vasectomies inspired me to resurrect this thread.

http://forum.exscn.net/showthread.php?t=10024

The "rumour" is true, I know men who got vasectomies as part of an "ethics handling" for getting their wives pregnant, as well as forced divorces, abortions and RPF assignments for "out 2D".

The following is from one of my earlier posts:

"The forced and coerced abortions actually started way before 1986 though.

The fact that scientology preys upon teenagers as recruits and signs them up for lifetime after lifetime billion year contracts, and forbids them from dating or any kind of "2D" (second dynamic, or sex and family) contact, sets the stage for young marriages, unplanned pregnancies and frequent divorces.

How you are supposed to get regular health care let alone birth control with no health care insurance and a pay of less than 50 dollars a week I just don't know.

Also, how can a young teenager decide he or she will NEVER fall in love and want a family and children?

I personally know of 2 young people who decided as part of an ethics handling to become permanently sterilized at their own expense. I know of others who did as well.

I know this decision was later regretted deeply.

From the scientology Admin (green) dictionary:

Quote:

"GENOCIDE", any of the following act committed with intent to destroy, in whole or part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group such as: (a) killing members of the group; (b) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group: and (e) forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. (LRH ED 28 INT)

Scientology does all of these things."

There are many personal stories, affidavits and scientology references about abortions and birth control on this thread. Please scroll through from the beginning.

Thank-you for posting this, Ladybird. The more exposure this crap gets, the faster we will see the last of the criminal organization that is perpetrating it.

It seems an appropriate time to bump this thread again.

Abort your child or get an SP Declare (complete with disconnection and fair game) is still being practiced in the Sea Org.

Lots of stories and policies on this thread. Please have a look?
