XenuBarb posts her report on ARS:

Quote:
SD and LA anon met up Friday evening to see Dark Knight, and I got to
meet AGP. He is delightfully wicked and funny as hell! Ran into another
anon when the movie let out, dressed as the Joker, and on his way in.
Dude...who dresses up for...oh right. You said you're a weeaboo. Never
mind...

Since we were riding with Wheels, AGP and I urged a quick stop by the
org. Shields were down, and a lone, balding older man was sitting at a
desk in the office. At 11:30 at night! There were a few lights on
upstairs. I approached the front door. My shirt read:
WHAT IS SCIENTOLOGY?
NO, REALLY!

I capered about a bit, to his befuddlement, then was joined by the Pope,
who questioned Scientology's ability to cure male pattern baldness. "We
are Anonymous!" we yelled. "Expect us!" And they did...

It was Epic Win! Fliers were gone before the parade was over! I missed
out on a lot of the event, as the bike contingent rode in the first wave
and ended in Balboa Park, a mile away from the main parade route.

I found a comfortable sign along the street that warned "no parking,"
put my flags in it and proceeded to power-lounge, waiting for the rest
of anonymous to finish the parade.
Kicked back there with my GF mask on, many people took pix of anonymous
at rest.
We finally regrouped under a big tree in the park. It was a beautiful
day; the marine layer finally burned off and the sun came out, with
little puffy Simpsons clouds.

Westboro Baptist Church was there at the parade, contained in a corral
off crowd control barricades, guarded by a SDPD mounted officer. They
got to stare at a horse's ass for the duration of the parade! I hope
that horse had flatulence for the four hate-mongers who attended!

Met up at the hotel and ruled the restaurant! I couldn't stop laughing,
people were so funny and sharp! We called the cook out of the kitchen to
cheer for his French fries, they were superb examples of the potato's
culinary possibilities.

Some LA anon headed home, while a few decided to flashraid with us.
Shields were up, so we fired up the music and danced to honks and waves
from passing traffic. An elderly woman came out of the org to speak with
us. David Meyer, President of the SD org, came out and herded her back
in to our calls of, "Why won't you let her talk?"

She reemerged later to ask us to please leave, because they were not
allowing her to participate in some event they were holding that night.
It sounded like punitive treatment for her gall in trying to talk to us
earlier. She was the typical Scilon; not really listening to what we had
to say, and I quickly lost interest in her. Apparently, it isn't her
problem. In fact, nothing is her problem, not even being barred from the
event due to our presence. She must have repeated "that's not my
problem," at least 9000 times.

Anonymous was eager to communicate with her. The music shut down, and
almost everyone abandoned signs and dancing. I wandered up to the corner
with a sign. (What kind of church stalks its critics? SCIENTOLOGY) I got
dragged back down because she was talking about Fair Game, and denying
that her cult harasses critics. I listened for a few minutes, then my
ADD kicked in and I wandered away again. She was probably out there for
an hour; at least, with no music, it felt like it.

When she finally went back in, she shook hands all around. Curiously,
she refused to shake my left hand, insisting that you use the other one
to do it right. I flashed on being rude and refusing to switch my sign
to my left hand, but decided it was too stupid to bother with.

We had the obligatory police visit, as we hadn't notified the PD for
this unplanned raid.
He was pleasant and professional. Seems the cult complained about
somebody climbing a light pole. (!!!) Dropped the name of our contact in
the PD, and all was well.
Saw a couple of Sea Ogres scuttling around in the parking lot, in full
SO regalia. I prefer my pirate duds for seagoing lulz. They would not
come out to talk. In fact, only that one elderly woman came out to
engage us.

We stayed longer than we planned, danced less than I like, thanks to her
Dev T.
The cult had some music playing inside and it was excruciatingly lame stuff.
Long day was loooooong, but full of epic win! Riding in the parade in
anon regalia and flying twin flags for anon and the rainbow rocked hard!
People cheering in the crowd would suddenly realize I was representing
Anonymous, and they cheered even harder, waving and taking pix. We're
doing it right!

I have this automatic reaction to being stared at. Yesterday, it was fail...

"What the hell are YOU looking at?' (remembers mask) Oh...right...

It’s a footbullet from my perspective.

Someone please explain to me the epic win part. Epic for AGP, or Anonymous, or both? I don’t get it. What does the cutie with the Bacardi and Coke have to do with anything other than blatant in-your-face gayness?

I think you need to explain your "perspective" then.

Sponge, I don’t have to explain shit. I’m in the mainstream and actually your target audience, so since you put it back on me… as if I have to explain MYSELF, I’ll simply tell you that you lost a customer.

Daywatch,

Thanks, I guess. There may be exposure, but it’s apples and oranges to me and a conspicuous attempt to mix the two. The added lashes on that mask will leave more of a lasting impression than anything else.

Why not have it tattooed some someone’s ass?

-=-=-=-

That’s it. I’m counting to ten, then I’m going to wait twenty-four-hours, and then I will count to twenty. Hopefully then this Topic will a few pages down by then.

Let me see if I can explain why this was a "win" though I hate using the word in that way.

Let's start with plunging you into the unthinkable. Imagine for as long as you can stand it a world where scientology has achieved its political goals.

scientology now makes the laws. Soon after scientology takes the authority it gets everyone to agree to its "benign dictatorship." A "benign dictatorship" is per L. Ron Hubbard's policy the ideal form of government.

The ten percent of the population that is gay will be rounded up, tested, and either "cured" or disposed of quietly and without sorrow. "But that passage from science of survival is figurative."

Yes, it's figurative as long as scientology has no political authority. Oh and that head on a pike policy - expect real heads on real pikes.

Alright enough of this. I don't think I have to go into detail.

Prior to the gay community having their gay pride parades people who were gay or had gender variations were openly persecuted by society. To an extent they still are persecuted. However with the gay pride parades and a great deal of effort on the part of those in the gay community they gradually achieved a change in society's attitudes. Right now more people are more tolerant, more accepting and more understanding of those who are gay or who have gender variations.

In the process of doing the gay pride parades and other political actions the people int he gay community have become well practiced at organizing, lobbying, political activism and other such activities.

Considering scientology's policies on how those people are to be treated it behooves them to at least be aware of the potential threat scientology is to them, both in regressing social attitudes and in outright persecution.

With the act of a small number of people representing Anonymous and appearing in a gay pride parade we have the making of a symbolic alliance between those who oppose scientology and those who have been working hard to create a place in the world where they are not persecuted.

The way I see it, if events go forward as I would hope, this brings an entire other "army" into the fray against scientology. This one is organized, wealthy, to a large degree well educated, and well practiced at political activism.

So to say this is an "epic win" may just be a bit of an understatement.

Then your "in-your-face" hetroness will probably go unoticed. They are used to it.

Stevie Ray Fan, I agree you don't have to explain anything to anyone, but I'd like to address the term "in-your-face gayness."

I'm gay and this term is generally used as a criticism by people who want gays to "act normal."

I'm not saying you're doing this, but I assert that anyone who pushes the envelope of what's "normal" the way this guy is doing, displaying what you call "in-your-face gayness," gives other gays (as well as people like you in the mainstream) more room to be exactly how they are.

For L. Ron Hubbard, it was either conform his version of "normal" or be disposed of quietly and without sorrow.

You're not like him.
