Celebrating the 24th Anniversary of the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SCIENTOLOGISTSChairman of the Board Religious Technology Center, Mr. David Miscavige, opened the IAS 24th Anniversary Event at Saint Hill, England.
WELCOME TO THE CELEBRATION WHEREIN WE ASSEMBLE AS THE IAS. If you sense something akin to a "sigh of relief" in the wind, or an electromagnetic charge in the air—who knows if it's not somehow linked to the LRH datum:
"When all strengths and forces are aligned to a single thrust a tremendous amount of power can be developed."
Granted, we meet once again at a juncture in history when all the wolves of the world are howling and
Merchants of Chaos are feasting--in particular, on a financial meltdown being fueled by ill omens and dire warnings in the media that the whole economic house of cards is collapsing. But if such are the calamities, catastrophes and mishaps that "news hounds of Fleet Street" habitually use to rattle populations, let's not forget our own stock in trade: To uplift individuals to levels where they can resolve any problem life might throw their way, and from there, to heights where there is no word for "bad news." In light of that, today's headlines are tantamount to what Shakespeare described as: "A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, yet signifying nothing!"
Before we finish, you will see a Scientology that is all-inclusive, all-embracive and that works for all of humanity. Because for all the talk of economic bailouts, we show you a spiritual bailout. For all the talk of stopping mortgage crises, we show you how to stop a moral crisis. And for all the talk of "troubled asset relief," we show you how to bring relief to whole populations.
While as for aligning all strengths and forces in a single thrust for tremendous power...
If you have heard it said our press, laid out page by page, would stretch to the top of Mount Everest, you now need a new descriptive phrase—because if you stack the pages on top of each other, they've just popped through the stratosphere.
If you've heard it said we're not just
in the news, we
are the news, you likewise need a new phrase. In fact, you'd have to glue yourself to a television screen every evening for 716 years, just to catch all the media clips on Scientology.
Then again, if you've heard we are reaching out on the worldwide web, that's the understatement of this century. Because with ten million visitors to our new sites since last March, there's no religious or humanitarian organization on Earth with our kind of Internet pull. Scientology.org draws more visitors than United Way, CARE, Peace Corps, Salvation Army and Human Rights Watch combined.
But of course, that's not even half of our saga—not with our phalanx of IAS-sponsored mailings, PSAs and online Fourth Dynamic campaigns. And lay it out, add it up—we're now bringing word of humanitarian solutions through 6 million publications across 140 nations.
Yet that's only a fragment of the story, because in reply to what we unleashed now stand 1,508 government representatives on board with our programs.
Even so, that's still not the full cast of players in this epic, because you also have to add in more than 5,000 disaster relief, emergency response, human rights and social service networks—now likewise embracing our frontline technologies. Then again, if we're not an equal-access organization, nothing is—hence, our outreach of Scientology solutions to no less than 841 million people of every persuasion in just the last year alone.
In addition to offering help, we're also placing total freedom in reach of 1.7 million people through a global infusion of
Scientology: An Overview DVDs in the last six months. However, we're not only describing Scientology with our DVD, we're also presenting it in full with LRH Basics Books now on the shelves of 84,218 libraries. That means 86 percent of all lending libraries on Earth are now stocked with a total of 1.6 million LRH titles—and as librarians themselves will tell you, LRH books are moving through checkout lines every 0.8 seconds.
While even beyond what it means to the world at large, what The Basics now represent to the world of Scientology takes us to another dimension entirely. More than 50 million Basics Books and Lectures are now in the hands of Scientologists. That, in turn, fueled 2.7 million people
stepping onto The Bridge this year, and they're doing so every 5.8 seconds. What that, in turn, sparked through the same twelve months is 53 times the number of Scientologists on course, as compared to any other time in history. Add into the equation 5.2 million hours of auditing delivered this year and our expansion has tripled just since the Wake-up Call.
As for where we're going now, we added 1.7 million square feet of Ideal Org premises during this last calendar year, for 10.7 million worldwide—a total five times greater than where we began as the IAS.
While as for the "right here" and "right now," Saint Hill is where it all began. And as is traditional, we celebrate our collective advance as the IAS: our global humanitarian campaigns, our worldwide missions to succor those in distress, and our next decisive steps toward achieving the Aims of Scientology.
