Because of Scientology’s global push in its Way to Happiness campaign, and immediately because of the cult’s capitalization on the Olympics here in BC to distribute the booklet to athletes and international visitors, I’m posting Flag ED 2119, the program that started the campaign in 1981. See also Gerry’s comment about the Way to Happiness and the program, on which he was assigned targets. He left the cult toward the end of 1981.

I think operating target 66 is my favorite for what being with Ron the Messiah was really like:

THE WAY TO HAPPINESS

Property, Production, Design & Exploitation
Program

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The property, otherwise known as "the morals booklet"
is written and designed as a non religious moral code based
on common sense.

It will not be published by the Church or a Church related
publisher. It will however be used by the Church in connection
with Div 6 programs, the delivery of the Happiness Rundown, and
will be made available through Church bookstores to the Scien-
tology public. All this is in addition to, and is incidental
to the broad public hand to hand' campaign and uses of it in
secular fields.

Its purpose is to improve morals over the world and create
a hand to hand subversion of an immoral society. It is a new
game, and it is intended to start a chain reaction through
society in the improvement of morals. We will let other groups
take credit for doing this and we are not worried about having
LRH's name, or the Church's name up in lights on this program.

Therefore, marketing and distribution must be very cleverly
done and coordinated - one area to the next.

Incidently, those on promotion lines will be very interested to know that this property very clearly fills all 9 of the Messianic buttons. The demand for such a code by the public is long term, and "happiness" is a button to be found again and
again on surveys. In short, we have another winner and the
value of this property and its widespread use should not be
underestimated.

This program is a 1981 TOP PRIORITY CAMPAIGN, and is a
coordinated effort on all fronts. Instructions for exploitation
of the property have been written by LRH and are illustrated in
the targets of this program but copies are also being made
available to all with targets, and all those involved in
strategic planning, marketing and these distribution lines.

NOTE: At this writing, production with the Publisher has already
begun. Targets listed below and designated for the Publisher
are not in fact orders. They are merely points already neg-
otiated and agreeable to the publisher, and they are listed
here for the benefit of all others with targets so they know
what the publisher is doing. They are listed here with the
Publishers permission.

PROGRAM PURPOSE: To improve morals over the world through a
hand to hand campaign, and to create a new game and a new era.

G0 PR lines not to gain acceptance of the property
as an Scn Property, but to demonstrate the need
for such a property in society. ____
II) Does not try to get LRH's name or Scientology's
name up in lights taking credit for this product but
does see that there is circulation of the booklet
amongst opinion leaders who will use it to forward
their own causes and survival. ____
III) Ensures all letters, acknowledgements and
documentation on the use of the property from
OLs and other people is copied and circulated
for use in gaining further acceptance of it.
IV) Operates on the basis that the number of
mentions of the product will act as a bridge
to further acceptances of other products. Credit
will come back to us eventually. ____

e. CASC (Social Coordinator):
I) Coordinates the origination of programs on
GOSC lines. This property can be consumed and
used and disseminated by almost every SC group
and public. ____
II) Sees that all SC Groups incorporate the use
of the booklet into their programs where they
apply and that they order their books directly
from the Publisher. ____

f. PUBLISHER:
I) Issues copies of the booklets in packets of
one doz. and these are banded. These booklets
cannot be purchased individually, but are banded
and purchased in packets for hand out indiv-
idually. ____
II) Develops distribution lines through firms
who want to purchase and distribute the booklets,
and print for themselves.

Essentially, the Publisher provides the market
with the product, and makes it known where it
can get more. Foreign translations are to be
arranged by the publisher.

The following are immediate consumers to the
Publisher:
WISE Members
Pubs Orgs as the distributors to the Scn Orgs
and public.
Social Reform Groups
Secular mail order distribution to commercial
endeavors and community groups.

III) arranges for complimentary copies to be
distributed to celebrities, for distribution
in their names. ____

order sales to be done to Banks, police, insurance
companies directly. ____
V) Arranges for the moral code itself to be printed
as a scroll, and distributed appropriately to the
same target groups, if scrolls are decided to be

reform of morals in society. Do a battery of surveys per
Mkting Series 3 & 4. Make your results available to all
key terminals in the PTs iucluding the Publisher.

44. From the data in 42 & 43 and from the Publisher
put together a sales kit. Include in the kit the
following:

a. Survey data which expresses demand for such a
property.
b. Statistics of the world which express the demand.
c. A sales talk, which includes a handling for criticism
of the church without being defensive, and includes
all the pertinent points from the Author's instructions.
d. Prices of the booklets including price lists for
volume sales.
e. Data about commissions for volume sales. (Staff
members should get a commission from the Church since
they are not agents of the Publisher. Field Auditors,
Hon. Pers PROs, can be sales reps of the Publisher
directly and can receive commissions direct.) This
data is being finalized and will be sent you by the
Publisher.
f. A copy of the booklet itself, stamped "sample".
g. An order form which is 3 ply (self carboned). The
order form must have provision for 3 types of orders.
(see tgt 69.)
I) An order of any size which the Church Bookstore
can fill. Such an order is made out with:
1 copy sent to the Bookstore Officer.
1 copy sent to the Customer, who sends or brings
in his slip with funds.
1 copy is retained in Div 6 of the Org. The slip
is Church Property and is the record of the staff
member who took the person's order. A sales
commission can be received by the staff member
from the Org.

II) An order of such volume that it should be sent
directly to the Publisher to fill. In this case
the order is made out with:
1 copy to the Publisher
1 copy to the Customer (who sends his funds plus
his copy of the order to the Publisher).
1 copy is retained by the Church for followup. A
sales commission on such an order would be sent
to the Org who would in turn see that the staff
member received a sales commission.

III) An order of volume where the customer wants to
reprint the booklet for his own purposes and with
his own design, or wish his company name on the front.
In this case, he is again put in touch with the
Publisher sending:
1 copy to the Publisher
1 copy to the customer, telling him to send his
slip to the Publisher and that further negotiations
on printing by the customer or printing of the
customers name on the booklet will be taken up by
the Publisher only.

Again the commission would be calculated separately
and forwarded to the Org, who would in turn give
a commission to the staff member responsible for
the order.

h. Instructions on how to use the kit.

i. Full instructions as to how anyone at any level
who gets a copy of the booklet can get more copies,
so that the whole campaign does not dead end simply
because nobody can get more books.

EXPLOITATION PHASE:

69. Write a campaign for Div 6's to exploit the Booklet in
their Org's community. Suggested title: Church of Scien-
tology, Community Campaign for Happiness.

The campaign is to follow the guidelines below:

a. They must buy their bookets via the HCO Book
Account and through the Org to Pubs Orgs who are
acting as distributors to the Scn public.

b. The position they take in their campaign is in
forwarding their religious purposes and aims. They
are not agents for the Publisher, and staff members
do not receive a commission from the Publisher, but
rather from the Church. The Org's name gets stamped
on the back.

c. Monies from the sales of packages of booklets go to
the Bookstore.

d. They can sell to any public, but target groups for
the Church Div 6's should be community betterment
groups. i.e., Boy Scouts, YMCA, Parent & Teacher
Associations, Police groups, Public service groups,
etc.

e. They should be equipped with their sales kits and
copies of THE WAY TO HAPPINESS, and any other sales
promotion or gimmicks sent them by Pubs Orgs.

f. The booklet is NOT to be used as a street handout
dissemination piece, but copies can be given out
selectively with the Org's name stamped on the front
and back.

g. There should be room enough in their programs for
them to appear at community groups and give public
talks about the current demand in the community for
such a moral code of common sense. Copies of the
booklet could be given or sold at such events.

70. Supervise the Div 6 Campaigns per the instructions.

71. Write a campaign for Hon. Pers PROs to sell the booklets
in their communities. They can be sales reps of the Publisher
directly and support their activities by working from
commission. This is a program which only needs sanction
from you as their terminal. You do not need to supervise
them as such, but encourage them to contact target groups
such as Banks, Police, Insurance companies, schools, etc.
They can use their contacts in business or go door to door
canvassing. Where possible it would be a good idea to hold
seminars. (EU & UK) PERS PRO INT, PERS PROS ____

72. Get busy on a sales campaign of the Happiness Rundown
to Scientologists. MARKETING SEC IMO ____

73. Write a program for groups to hold seminars in their
community. Prepared speeches should be sent to them for
use. These can be written from data in the sales kit,
and the author's instructions, and expanded upon according
to the specific target group they are dealing with. Have
them put their individual name or group names on the
booklets they hand out, and sell them only in the packets
of 12. They can work on sales commission directly from
the publisher on volume orders, and thereby support this
activity.

Their program must give them freedom to either work on
a soap box or sell door to door. Hold seminars where
possible to get them started. FES INT ____

74. Program the use of this booklet and the companion
sales kit from the Publisher demonstrating how the
psychs are tearing down moral standards in society. Using
CCHR distribute this booklet to allies indicating that
through use of it they can help others on the road to

75. Program the use of the booklet for Education groups
for distribution and consumption by Parents, children &
teachers, to combat the community problems facing these
groups in society. (criminality in schools, the need
for guidance counselling between parents and children, etc.)
This activity can he supported through ordering booklets
directly from the Publisher, and distributing them with
their groups name on them as well as getting commissions
on volume sales. (This data available from the Publisher.)

76. Program the usage of the booklet through Narconons.
Have them get their copies direct from the Publisher,
and support their campaigns through selling the booklets
for volume use through prisons, police, social workers,
probation officers, social boards who fund addicts, judges,
and any other arm of society involved in the rehabilitation

77. Program the use of this booklet through Criminons, as

78. Program the use of this booklet for PRs to use in
their opinion leader contacts to get the booklets into
the hands of Community Leaders and used. PR Gases can
sell the booklets in volume and support their activities

Postulating an immoral society -- or a "dangerous environment," or society on a "dwindling spiral," or "hell on earth," etc. -- is a procedural step in what Hubbard called in his scripture "Scientology Zero." Hubbard’s idea was to postulate an immoral society, or danger or chaos, and then sell Scientology as a moral or stabilizing influence, or source of calm. Hubbard merchandized chaos and fear and profited from promises of their calming, reduction and erasure, and he got others to do the same. Current Scientology head Miscavige likewise merchandizes chaos and fear, sells the calmness solution to the dangerous environment he postulates and merchandizes, and gets Scientologists everywhere working on his program.

The cult even now calls its Way to Happiness campaign "Operation Planetary Calm."

In line with TWTH’s purpose of subverting society, Scientology’s public statements of its purpose omit any mention of subversion. E.g., "its purpose is to help arrest the current moral decline in society and restore integrity and trust to Man."

The Way to Happiness Foundation says its mission is "reversing the moral decay in society by restoring trust and honesty in the world through the publication and widespread distribution of The Way to Happiness."

It’s understandable that Scientology and Scientologists would hide their purpose for TWTH of creating a subversion of our society, because the subversion they intend is so antisocial, and they know it.

The evidence portrays a man who has been virtually a pathological liar when it comes to his history, background, and achievements. In the 1970’s Hubbard had Scientologists conduct a massive set of surveys to find out what were the qualities people recognized in messiahs. These included, of course, honesty, humanitarianism, justice, etc. which is how Scientologists universally characterize Hubbard, Miscavige, Rathbun, etc. The messiahs' valuable final product or gift to mankind that Scientologists surveyed was "happiness."

Hubbard was never going to possess or manifest a messiah’s qualities, or even desire these qualities, because he was a pathological liar, a coward, a malignant narcissist and a sociopath. But he had his Scientologist troops in the organization he controlled promote him as having a messiah’s qualities.

Like Hubbard, David Miscavige is a gargantuan and pathological liar and sociopath. He is a violent man who has physically beaten many people and gleefully ruined many lives. He is also frightfully cynical, promoting himself as messiah with a messiah’s qualities, while remaining a conscienceless tyrant. Lies have always been mandated and enforced in Scientology under both Hubbard and Miscavige, and telling the truth about the cult’s nature, intentions and activities is punished as "treason." Indeed, lying is so pervasive in Scientology it has for years been known as the religion’s central sacrament.

Scientology states on its Way to Happiness Foundation site that "the Way to Happiness book sets a standard of conduct for the citizens of the world."

Yet Scientology and Scientologists will never apply the booklet’s moral precepts to themselves, and will never permit its standard of conduct among themselves.

Scientology and Scientologists seek the advantages that come when everyone else is honest and the cultists still lie, cheat, rip people off, break up families, and destroy basic human rights, including most egregiously freedom of religion. Scientology’s standard of conduct is the standard of conduct of sociopaths.

By remaining willfully and actively immoral – dishonest, untrustworthy, setting a terrible example, harmful of people of good will, etc. -- while preaching morality in the world’s "first nonreligious moral code," Scientology and Scientologists have had some success in undermining morals, allegiance and faith and achieving the perversion or corruption of many individuals and some significant sectors of society.

Culture associates Scientologists with Space Aliens for many reasons. The robotic nature of Scientology programs such as TWTH campaign that Caroline has posted is obvious. It all reads like bad Space Opera: Reptilians trying to deceive and subvert Humans so that they can mind control them and then consume them.

Scientologists are predators. They consume the Tech and each other as their food. This fuels them to prey upon "raw meat" wogs for money, slave labor, and converting some publics into Reptilian Scientologists.

Scientology is a strange "brain suck" in which Humanity is swapped out over time for Hubbard's Homo Novis Reptilian Implant. Only an Alien being would think in such flat, one-dimensional, strange ways:

Hubbard was all about Alien Subversion. Whatever entity possessed Hubbard was all about gutting and stripping humans for consumption. The Scilon Leader, the entity possessing the body of David Miscavige, is presently amassing mostly empty real estate as a farce in the same way that TWTH is a farce. Ideal Orgs, TWTH, and so much else of Scientology is an attempt to subvert that is easily seen through by most. CoS factually is very bad Space Opera writ large, but now collapsing into a Black Hole.

Scientology does not survive very well when it is exposed to the light of truth. Tomorrow, 12 Feb 2010 in Los Angeles, Scientology is the subject of a major press conference. OSA has undoubtedly written a detailed 312 page Battle Plan for this press conference.

Were those targets met? Anybody know? (Statements made at scientology events are considered unreliable.)

This original WTH paper booklet © 1981 L. Ron Hubbard, was published by Regent House, Ltd. which was Scientologist Virgil Wilhite's publishing company. Wilhite is also "the Publisher" referred to and with targets on Flag ED 2119.

We’ve got a question for the Southern California contingent: Did the cult use the road leading west, away from Gilman, for the dust jacket of this © 1989 edition?

If it really is the road leading away from Gilman it would be cool.

Thanks for posting this very interesting information. I have thought about The Way to Happiness for some time. It doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of Scientology. For a long while, the basic idea of Scientology was to deliver auditing and train auditors, handling the reactive mind as postulated by Hubbard. The Way to Happiness does not seem to be any kind of breakthrough on this point. For a world full of philosophies of right conduct, it seems odd for Hubbard to reject codes of right conduct for so long, and then suddenly publish his own.

If you study the precepts of The Way to Happiness, and compare them with the way Hubbard actually lived, you might notice that Hubbard probably violated each and every one of the precepts. Maybe it is some kind of confession. Whether Hubbard left a body in a ditch somewhere we may never know. What we can reasonably assume, given human nature, is that writing "Do not murder" in some booklet is not going to stop anyone from murdering. So the real question is, why include it in the first place? Obviously Hubbard had his reasons.

I've just been traveling on that road - virtually - thanks to google maps street view feature. I couldn't find a section of road that looked like that and the colors don't really do it.

There were quite a few Gold Base staff out of the compound and cleaning the area when the Google camera vehicle went by.

I did some color capturing of the area and came up with this.

Caroline and Gerry -- your work is totally correct. The Psilons will quote all kinds of laws and freedoms and constitutional rights -- all to attack and subvert others whom they are afraid of or do not like. But when questioned or pointed out the invalidity or unconstitutionality of their own actions, both individual and group, the only response -- ever -- it to cry out they are being religiously persecuted and mob-attack the query. In truth, it is common knowledge among scientologits that all of the country's laws do not apply to them. Because they see their Messiah outside the law, so too they see themselves.

If you criticize the Way to Happiness, CoS acts like you're pro-murder and pro-stealing. But it's not those words in the tract, it's the package of sucking in new members and acting like CoS workers are big humanitarians for giving out this tired list. Not to mention the obvious of it sounding like environmental disaster even before the spills of Valdez and in the Gulf happened -- the analogy sucks. Oil and water don't mix. To bring them together even temporarily, you have to violently shake them. Even then, they immediately start to separate.

So what they're saying is "buy our expensive shakedown of The Way to Happiness. We'll force it on you, it won't work as advertised and the problems it is supposed to handle, immediately return."

On another thought, one has to wonder: With it being Scientology, is the oil they spread on the sea Snake Oil??

Somehow or other I was doing a change of space process that I myself was not familiar with. It made me bite off my thetan's fingernails just a little bit. I said "Well I'd better look this over a little more thoroughly." and proceeded to do so.

A bit later that day I did some reach and withdraw on the polar cap and so on. Orientation. We got quite a bit out of this because I was able to establish some reach and withdraw processes. I knew how the world must look to somebody who was in a body and had pictures appearing in
front of them. That sort of thing. I knew they could get kinda queasy about the situation.

That wasn't what over-awed me. What over-awed me was when I found out I hadn't been looking at pictures. That was upsetting. I was invalidating my own perception. It didn't look like pictures don't you see? I was busy invalidating my own perception and so on, and I wondered why I was nervous. That was what was really puzzling me. What was this all about? I couldn't quite figure out what had happened and then I finally did find out what had happened.

I had actually appeared in a despatchers' tower on Venus and had appeared back there I was above here. I had done it like that, with no volition on my own part at all. So that was upsetting. You start doing appear and disappear you see, automatically and you say "What's
happening?" "You mean to say I'm going to be prowling around in the stratosphere and all of a sudden find myself appearing and disappearing elsewhere without any volition on my own part?"

Actually I didn't think all this through until later, but I thought "Well prowling round up here is a little bit over my head now. I'd better know a little bit more before I go."

That was some weeks ago and since that time I've been exploring around and finally found out what I was looking at. You talk about a fellow, he's brought home this nice pet, tame, riotous snake you see. He's put it in a box and then a snakeologist comes along and he says "Good heavens man, where did you find that King Cobra?"

That was the way I felt. I've been looking at where you go every time you die.

I finally found out what this planet is and why life is so loopy.

Is this another instance of L. Ron just making it up as he went along?

You know, for a guy who had made as many references as he did in his written materials and lectures there is a complete absence of annotations. The references he makes are also vague and generalized.

What space probes? What discoveries? Where is the original documentation where this is reported? Who reported it? When?

But we're only supposed to ask questions like that when we're dealing with underlings, raw meat, wogs and "ethics bait;" not L. Ron Hubbard.
