Hi Gerry and Caroline,

I listened/viewed your 10 part series re: CAST. Thanks for doing them to explain what happened and your reasoning.

I agree with your reasoning and your view that any influence with an organization by the corporation of scientology must be immediately and broadly exposed. Scn, inc. will always use it's inroads to forward their agenda.

You, of all people, know the extent to which Scn, inc. will go to obtain information it can use against anyone who objects to them.

I know from my experiences that Scn, inc. uses vulnerable people. People who have been abused by others easily mistake the outreached tentacle of one of Scn, inc.'s front groups or compromised allies as a helping hand. Once that happens, their information soon becomes Scn, inc.'s information.

The human trafficking arena must have multitudes of juicy connections about who deals with who around the world. After all, human trafficking cannot continue to exist without friends in high places. Scn, inc. needs control of those high places.

Where better to discover 'leverage' on politicians and, particularly, law enforcement personnel in multitudes of countries, than by debriefing those who have been victims of same. For Scn, inc. it is all grist for their mill.

I was in L.A. at the PAC base, (Cedars complex, big blue, etc) when the FBI raided in 1977. Without having been there, it is hard to imagine the impact it made.

Whereas the G.O. had infiltrated agencies before that, I am sure that the scariest part of it was that they didn't have control of the FBI. I picture it now as having been the subsequent TOP target of the G.O. and now it's sex-change alter-ego, Office of Special Affairs to infiltrate people into the FBI to such a level that any future investigation could be controlled and marginalized.

That is their operating basis locally, as has been pointed out. Few, if ANY complaints get beyond the front desk of the local P.D. or D.A. or the state Attorney General. That is what it seems like anyway.

Though there are always hints at 'federal investigations' or 'state investigations' or local investigations, for years and years not much visible has happened. Even though multitudes of Scn, inc.'s victims exist and can testify and do testify and speak out. And that the abuses and criminality are document-able, and witnesses and events can be cross-checked. And cases like the Headly's who seemed to have a shot at making a significant impact on Scn, inc.'s continuing criminality get derailed in seemingly nonsensical ways.

The least complex answer to this is that Scn, inc.'s practice of 'safe-pointing' has succeeded at local, state and federal levels beyond our most pessimistic imagining.

If I momentarily channel a dyed-in-the-wool Scn, inc. planner, I see I would have long ago planned thusly:

1. Infiltrate ALL agencies who have any legal jurisdiction over any aspect of Scn, inc.'s operations or properties. Specifically the FBI, IRS, ATF, US Marshals, Witness Protection Program, etc. The goal is to own the playing field. Resources are what ever is necessary. Multiple, compartmentalized, deniable, sheep-dipped operatives in multi pronged years long career building moves that take them to the highest levels of various agencies.

The goal would to put them in policy positions or at least, as heads of departments and important investigations.

I envision that these infiltrated operatives would even volunteer to be part of or even head up proposed investigations, since no usual person really wants to tangle with Scn, inc. if they don't have to. The longer these misdirected investigations continue, the more statute of limitations run out and the more victims die or drift off or give up. Justice delayed is as good as no justice at all.

2. Infiltrate or gain influence over those who direct, appoint, or set agenda or priorities for the Agencies in 1. above.

Such as State Departments, D.A.s, Attorneys General, Governors, Senators, Congressmen and Women, and their staff. Even staff and advisers and cabinet of the executive branch.

3. As a second line of defense, create fictitious Agencies, or sub-departments of agencies that masquerade as the real ones. I.D., Uniforms, clandestine headquarters, back stories, etc. The idea is that the fictional Scn, inc. agency personnel can approach potential ex-scn threats or people with knowledge of crimes and pose as a 'secret investigation' that's been going on for years and isn't ready to indict yet. They get all the information and while holding the witness off with oaths of secrecy and promises that they are helping so much, Scn, inc. sees what information they can expose and uses other assets to sanitize and remove evidence, compromise other witnesses and misdirect legitimate agencies.

That is right out of the 'Sting' where the Fake Cop rousts the Robert Redford character.

If an 'agency' contacts you, unless you go to the national headquarters of the FBI and compare the ID you are shown with real ones, you might be talking to a fiction.

It would be a brilliant and nearly undetectable plan. I'm unsure how you would determine, as an individual, if you were talking to the real guys, assuming there are any real investigations, and the fakes. Going to the FBI with such a story probably gets you labeled as paranoid.

3. Use information to hand to forge strong relations with underworld, radical, religious and political groups. There is so much information available in confessional formulary folders where Scn, inc. clients have intersected with drugs, prostitution, public figures, and all manner of national and international de-facto influence networks that such can be manipulated with well placed blackmail, release of information, money laundering, etc.

4. Cast a broad net of social coordination groups and front groups that promise help to victims. Do actually help in some cases, using money regged out of Scn, inc. client/members. But keep ears and eyes out for anyone who is vulnerable and has or has had connections or information about influential people. Use them and their information to bolster targets 1, 2, 3.

Whew!, Damn, I'm going to stop channeling that. It's creepy!

But you see my point. What if a federal judge, for instance, was approached by someone who seemed bonafide, claiming there was a secret multi-year investigation going on that would be derailed by a continued trial of Scn, inc.? What would happen?

Anyway, my thoughts.

I hope you Gerry and you Caroline are keeping on keeping on. Your contribution has been and continues to be important, timely and invaluable to those of us who have managed to escape or throw off Hubbard's insanity, and more importantly to those who WILL. I think, without you, there would be far less true, tested and trustworthy information exposing the true nature of Hubbard and his Scn, inc.

I wish you well.

As of today 25th August 2010, The cult of scientology's "Youth for Human Rights International" front group is still listed on the CASTLA website as one of their "Rescue and Restore Regional Coalition Partners".
http://www.castla.org/coalition-members#la

CAST should already know that scientology = victims (Nancy herself being one such victim).
So, I'd like to know CAST's reasoning for not removing them as soon as they were made aware that YFHRI = scientology.

On another point, regarding Gerry's last video, throwing a little devils advocate in here...
Gerry noted the 990 filing and the pisspot amounts of money do seem alarmingly small considering the grand claims that had been made for how they help victims of human trafficking. However, Gerry himself touched on one aspect when he mentioned the paltry $387 for dental treatment but also noted that there will be dentists may donate a certain amount of their services for free (which of course you won't see on the 990). That brings me to the point that perhaps CAST is more of a pool of charitable organisations which it picks from. i.e. CASTs duty being to organise a pacakge of help for victims from the appropriate organisations and invididuals willing to give it directly to the victim rather than CAST simply doling out money itself. It would seem that way judging by their list of members. That's kind of the point of a coalition. However, the picture that is being painted of thousands of victims going through CAST as a sort of clearing centre, one might still expect a fair bit more than what is listed on the 990 for emergency help for those who need it right there and then.

CAST is a service provider to victims of human trafficking that has been funded and supported in other ways for several years by the US Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs’ (OJP) Grant Programs for Trafficking Victims. There were 41 service providers in the program as of 2008. These findings and recommendations from an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) audit of the program are instructive, and applicable to the CAST-Scientology controversy: http://www.justice.gov/oig/reports/OJP/a0826/findings.htm

Because the actual number of human trafficking victims being provided service by the service providers was far less than expectations, the Justice Department had its Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) begin awarding grants to establish task forces among law enforcement agencies intended to identify trafficking victims and refer them to service providers. The service providers must, of course, inform the task forces of the human trafficking cases the service providers uncover or service so that the task forces can investigate and have prosecuted the human trafficker organizations that created the victims.

The principal law enforcement recipient of program grants in the LA area is the LAPD. Therefore, Scientology’s connections in this situation include connections to the LAPD.

The relevant connections to the LAPD comprise, interestingly, the Scientology organizations, affiliated entities and individuals who comprise the beneficiaries in the Scientology v. Armstrong slavery contract, in the efforts to enforce it, and in all the fair game and black PR in relation to that contract.

These beneficiaries include all Scientology and Scientology affiliated organizations and entities and all of their officers, agents, representatives, employees, volunteers, directors, successors, assigns and legal counsel. That’s quite a list.

Consider this regarding connections between the LAPD, CAST’s Task Force partner, and Scientology:

It is not at all surprising that human trafficking victims do not speak out or file charges or seek services from cult infiltrated service providers.

Please? Try to understand the fear and confusion of these modern day slaves. Many are underage kids from 3rd world countries who are far from family, have their passports taken away and are threatened that they will never see their family again and will be arrested by Scientology controlled police if they dare to try to run away.

Scientology really is worse than you think and worse than you can imagine.

And just one result, an official Scientology press release, the first one of the 300,000 possible connections that I did anything about:

The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International held its 17th annual Christmas Stories fundraiser benefiting the Hollywood Police Activities League

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre

International notables Anne Archer, Erika Christensen, Jason Dohring, Jenna Elfman, MC Lyte, Priscilla Presley, Beth Riesgraf, and film composer Mark Isham performed in the annual Christmas Stories performance over the weekend to an audience of over 500. Created in the theme of a 1930s holiday variety radio show, Scientology Celebrity Centre guests were treated to traditional and original renditions of music, dance, skits, and stories. Since 1993, the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International's Christmas Stories performances have raised more than $245,000 for community youth programs.

This year's production benefits the Hollywood Police Activities League annual Christmas party and at-risk youth programs, and will provide meals, games, and toys for children who would otherwise have no Christmas.

LAPD Hollywood Division Captain Bea Girmala presented a city of Los Angeles Certificate of Commendation to the Church of Scientology for its 17 year-old charity event, which was accepted on behalf of the Church of Scientology and its volunteer performers by the President of the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International, Maria Ferrara. "We are honored to support our police in their efforts to help children in need and give them a better future," said Ferrara.

The Police Activities League (PAL) is a nationwide youth development program operated by police officers who provide positive role models for youth. The program includes educational and recreational activities for at-risk youth as an alternative to gang violence, drug use, and criminal activities. The Hollywood PAL is staffed by fulltime police officers dedicated to programs that serve Hollywood youth, including swimming, street hockey, basketball, martial arts, soccer, computer activities, arts, crafts, and educational tutoring.

We have to trust other people at this point to assemble the connections between the Scientology beneficiaries and the LAPD, but it’s safe to say, and not wild speculation, as spectators speculate, that these connections are incalculable. Please, find the incidents and connections.

Okay, just one more i & c report, and then we’re getting popcorn and hope everyone else has fun with it. Remember, one point per incident and one point per connection.

August 11, 2010 -- More than 1,400 guests attended the 41st Anniversary Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre Gala in Hollywood on Saturday, August 7. The guest list included many of the Church’s well-known members, including John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Leah Remini, Anne Archer, Erika Christensen, Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson) and Jenna Elfman. [All beneficiaries] The annual event highlights the humanitarian programs sponsored by the Church—programs addressing drug abuse, human rights, moral values for a modern world, illiteracy and disaster relief. The evening’s guest speakers included California Congresswoman Diane Watson; LAPD Hollywood Division Captain Beatrice Girmala; Mr. Albert DeCady, Special Advisor to Haitian Ambassador Raymond Joseph; and the Liberian Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Nathaniel Barnes. Congresswoman Watson told the audience of her history in working with the Church: “As a public servant I’ve had the privilege of a close working relationship with you for many years on many vital issues of our society, and especially since becoming the U.S. Representative for this district in 2001. The relationship has been productive because your social programs are for people no matter who they are—and it has been rewarding because they work, and the resources you so generously provide are very effective.”

Office of Justice Programs’ Grant Programs for Trafficking Victims

Audit Report 08-26

July 2008

Office of the Inspector General

Findings and Recommendations

1. DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT OF OJP’S TRAFFICKING GRANT PROGRAMS

We found that OJP’s human trafficking grant programs have built significant capacities to serve trafficking victims, but have not identified and served significant numbers of victims. As initially designed, the program awarded cooperative agreements to non-profit service providers that supplied victims with services such as food, clothing, shelter, and legal assistance. OJP’s Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) began awarding agreements to service providers in January 2003, and during the first 2 years assisted only 480 victims. As an expansion of the program, in FY 2005 the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) began awarding grants to establish task forces intended to identify trafficking victims and refer them to service providers. The task forces identified 490 additional victims during the 6-month period ending December 2005 and the number of victims aided as reported by the service providers increased by about the same amount. However, the number of victims reportedly being served soon declined to the pre-task force levels of 196 victims for the 6-month period ending December 2006. In addition, we found that the OVC’s grant award process for service providers resulted in a wide variance in the amount of funds awarded compared to the number of victims each grantee anticipated serving. Further, we found that both the service providers and task forces overstated to OJP the number of
victims reportedly served and identified.

Is there nothing Hubbard claims to have been? It's no wonder he thought he lived so many lifetimes.

Decamping from Rhodesia
Quote:
In 1966, L. Ron Hubbard traveled to Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), planning to establish a strong Scientology presence there, or perhaps even a Scientology "homeland".

In 1966, knowing that the world would not go on forever without war, and knowing that it might be very advisable for us to have all of our materials in a safe repository, I went down to southern Africa in order to establish an area where this could be effected.

-L. Ron Hubbard, Ron's Jounal 67, a tape addressed to all staff and studens of Scientology organizations, 20 Septempter 1967.
However, the Rhodesian Ministry of Immigration elected not to renew Hubbard's residence permit and Hubbard was forced to leave the country abruptly after failing to ingratiate himself with the ruling powers.

U.S. Financier is refused Residence Permit
—told to leave by next Monday
The Chronicle, 14 July 1966

Quote:
Salisbury, Wednesday. Mr. L. Ron Hubbard, the American financier recently involved in the purchase of the Bumi Hills Hotel and in a number of other big business deals in Rhodesia, has been refused permission to stay in the country and has until next Monday to leave.

Mr. Hubbard, founder of the controversial Scientology movement, has been told by the Ministry of Immigration that his temporary alien's residence permit will not be renewed, according to a spokesman for Mr. Hubbard. The spokesman said the permit would expire next Monday and Mr. Hubbard was expected to leave Rhodesia, probably for Britain, on Friday. His wife, Mary Sue, is not in Rhodesia at the moment.

Mr. Hubbard refused to talk to the press tonight and would make no comment on the situation. A Ministry of Immigration spokesman also refused to comment.

Mr. Hubbard arrived in Rhodesia earlier this year after being told by his doctor to leave Britain following his third attack of pneumonia. In May, together with two local business men, he bought the Bumi Hills Hotel on Lake Dariba. He also bought an interest in the holdings of Mr. John Plagis, a local property owner, and a holding company was being formed for them.

In addition, he said he had arranged the purchase of interests in a car sales and was considering financing several factories. Addressing a Que Que Rotary Club dinner this month, Mr. Hubbard said he was to start a business in Que Que.

Quote:
Controversy
Explaining the Scientology movement recently, Mr. Hubbard said he had started a foundation in 1950, "to discover the true nature of man, and make the world a better place."

He calls Scientology the philosophy of knowledge and said it would be used in Rhodesia to improve the ability of executives in his new companies and to better their administrative know-how. Scientology has aroused considerable controversy in Britain, the United States and other countries.
Contrary to Church of Scientology claims that Hubbard championed the cause of black Africans in southern Africa, author Paulette Cooper reports a different situation in her book, The Scandal of Scientology and indicates a possible reason that his residence permit was not renewed.

Hubbard has also been accused of getting entangled with politics while he was in Rhodesia, and, in fact, may have been barred from that country a few years ago. The Daily Mail in England reported that this occurred because the Rhodesian authorities believed he was using the political situation in that country to expand Scientology. At first no one complained: Hubbard had invested nearly $80,000 in Rhodesia; he bought a house for a reputed $40,000 and a hotel to "show his confidence in the country and its government" — although they were worthwhile investments for him, too, because Scientology was said to have taken in $25,000 in a city of only 45,000 whites.

But the Daily Mail reported that Hubbard allegedly alienated people by constantly praising Ian Smith, expressing his sympathy for the cause of the white Rhodesians, and exploiting racial prejudices (allegedly by saying that the Africans wouldn't qualify for membership in Scientology because their I.Q. was too low). Such statements, had they ever been widely circulated, would not have made Hubbard popular among Scientologists in America, since Hubbard's constant emphasis of "freedom" and "equality" has recruited a number of American Negroes to the organization.
Russell Miller, author of Bare-Faced Messiah , which was excerpted in the Sunday Times magazine (1987), also suggests this possibility.

On television, in newspaper interviews and in all his public pronouncements, Hubbard professed support for Ian Smith's government, although in private he thought Smith was a "nasty bit of work" who was incapable of leadership. Similarly he publicly espoused sympathy for the plight of the black majorities of both Rhodesia and South Africa, while privately admitting contempt for them. Blacks were so stupid, he told John McMaster, that they did not give a reading on an E-Meter .

At the beginning of July Hubbard was invited to address the Rotary Club in Bulawayo. He delivered a rambling, hectoring speech telling the assembled businessmen how they should run their country, their businesses and their lives, and when it was reported in the local newspaper it appeared to be faintly anti-Rhodesian.

A couple of days later, Hubbard received a letter from the Department of Immigration telling him that his applications for an extension to his alien's temporary residence permit had been unsuccessful: "This means that you will be required to leave Rhodesia on or before July 18, 1966."

Hubbard was stunned. Up to that moment he had believed himself to be not just a prominent personality in Rhodesia, but a popular one. He asked friends in the Rhodesian Front party to make representations on his behalf to the prime minister, but to no avail.
John McMaster — originally proclaimed Scientology's first Clear but later declared — suggests a more pedestrian reason Hubbard was not allowed to stay in Rhodesia. From Stewart Lamont's Religion Inc., Harrap: London, 1986, pg. 54:

McMaster remembers a heavy-handed attempt by Hubbard to influence Prime Minister Ian Smith while he was living in Alexander Park in Salisbury. Ron had his chauffeur drive him out in his yellow Pontiac with two bottles of pink champagne, which he had to leave with the butler because Mrs Smith would not receive him. "There are things like protocol, you know, just general decency," says McMaster. "You don't just barge in on somebody like a tramp steamer misdocking. All these nuances of understanding, I began to realize, he didn't have." With some distaste John McMaster adds, "He told me Ian Smith was going to be shot because he was a 'Suppressive'. I now have no comment. But the real reason that Hubbard was kicked out of Rhodesia was that his cheques bounced."
