Protester AnonOrange emailed me this today:Hi folks,
It's back! It's on next Tuesday, Feb 8th agenda.
http://rivcocob.com/agenda/2011/02_08_2011.htm3.1 SUPERVISOR STONE: Adopt an Order Initiating an Amendment to Ordinance No. 884, an Ordinance Regulating Targeted Residential Picketing.
Last week I spoke to Vern Lauritzen, chief of staff for Jeff Stone:
http://www.supjeffstone.org/staff/vlauritzen.aspI said: "Hey Vern, when's Ordinance 884 goin be repealed?"
He said: "He does not want it repealed!" and continued to explain what they plan on doing.
I have a problem with that. It's not Jeff Stone that decides for all 5 supervisors. Jeff Stone alone should not be stating that the ordinance will not be repealed. The ordinance needs to be brought up to all supervisors, for ALL to decide if it should be repealed or not. Certainly Buster would like to have his say.
Second, they want to reduce the distance down to 3 feet to the property line, which in most cases is INVISIBLE. That unenforceable by any sheriff officer who doesn't happen to also be a surveyor! The even considered ZERO feet, but that would invalidate the need for an ordinance in the first place, because protesters are not supposed to be on private residential property while protesting anyway.
The attached picture show approximately where you can stand, shouting all day at Danny and not get in trouble. If you line up right in front of the guard shack, you wont be blocking ingress/egress and you should be just fine. It might be best if you can bring a surveyor with you.
So the whole thing is silly and they just want to keep the ordinance just so they can keep face and not look like they lost the battle. Jeff Stone used Ordinance 884 in his Senate campaign to promote himself. It seems to me that Stone promised Scientology that the Ordinance will stay and he's doing everything he can to keep it on the books.
Please attend the Board Meeting. It's the first item on the Policy calendar and I expect the vote will take place as early as 9:30. Maybe that's why it's the first item on the agenda.
Please notify the "Ladies of Riverside, Julie & Lirra". I don't have their e-mail addresses.

Here as some 2010 aerial pictures of Gold Base showing the new landscaping and including the African village (north west of the castle), while it was under construction. It's still there last time I checked. It was supposed to be there for just 6 weeks.
