What DM does to his staff is illegal and punishable by the law. But, frankly, I do not feel sorry for his victims, who are high-level Church officials.
Stalin sent a large number of high-level Soviet officials to concentration camps because became he suspicious of them. The Communist bastards got what they deserved.
DM is a miniature version of Stalin, his victims are stupid enough to stay in CoS after horrendous treatment they receive from him. But, as they say, stupidity is not an excuse.

Ah, you get close to the truth. Of course Miscavige and Stalin have similar behavior. Stalin was and Miscavige is a cult leader. Their attributes are outlined in chapter five of Captive Hearts Captive Minds.

It's kind of like this: All cult leaders are the same cult leader. (Two points if you catch from where that was paraphrased. (I won't tell.))

Even if the inner circle did wicked and illegal acts, and are now secretly punished in the RPF, the imprisonment harms the fabric of society and makes it "easier" for Miscavige to use the RPF for trivial "disloyalty" like talking on the phone to an escapee. It also spreads fear among the remaining workers, and then they submit to Miscavige abusing and overworking them all the more.

The inner circle also has stories to tell on the witness stand, to put Miscavige in prison for forty lifetimes. And, they can tell the public about long-imprisoned Sea Org Workers, swindling of public members, and attacks on critics. Once any inner circle exec is cooperating with authorities, and shows remorse and willingness to pay their debt to society, it's in our interest to reach out to them to help us all heal and learn the full truth. Those with direct bitter experiences should speak out, though, so the exec can hear the truth. And, the exec should get a fair trial for the crimes they can still be charged with (the statute of limitations has expired on many CoS crimes).

South Africa recovered from apartheid partly through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Commission.* Government and police leaders and others who committed crimes were brought before the Commission. They confessed, gave some information, and showed remorse, and in return got amnesty. While imperfect, the commission added to the history of apartheid abuse, and prevented unrest among the white population who might have seen the criminal leaders as martyrs. Desmond Tutu got a well-earned Nobel Peace Prize for leading this commission. Such a Commission would be too elaborate and unusual for the US government to run, so it might "happen" in the court of public opinion on critic websites. It especially should not be headed by an ex-exec like Marty Rathbun, who was too involved in the crimes himself, and has an incentive to pick and choose who is accused.

BTs2Free

Thanks for the great post. I can relate to alot of it having been a $cientologist for several years in the mid 90's and joining staff at a local org before joining the SO (PAC Base), but just for 3 months when I wisely chose to leave.
I have had nightmares also (rarely anymore) but the same as you said. Somehow I find myself back in the SO wondering how and why the hell that happened. Then I awaken so relieved that it was just a dream.
I'm also thinking about writting my story and posting it here, although it won't be as interesting as yours. I didn't deal with high ranking scientologists nor did I witness anything quite as dramatic as you described (the violence, overboarding,etc.). But as much as I like reading the accounts of former SO members, I feel I should contribute my own.
Thanks again, BTs2Free, and I can't wait to read more....
Bobby
