See this is what I am talking about. This fear of a FILE on you by scientology? You must admit that is rather laughable. If you abide by the laws within your area/country you have nothing to worry about. That mindset sounds like "Cold war era" paranoia. Fueling that paranoia on our part gives the cult an upper hand in silencing the critic.

I will entertain your comment/derail briefly: I have had law abiding friends get Fair Gamed. Now, back to questions about WWP.

Expanding on my last post (even though I think that one word could stand on its own, as a law-abiding citizen who indeed had "something to worry about"), yes, they do keep files.

Ex (or current, whatever the status might be) Scientologists are often presented with printouts of every post they ever made on a critical message board when they are confronted by someone at their org. Perhaps not everyone is tracked; I think people are tracked according to how big of a pain in the ass they are, and as manpower allows.

Thanks to anonymous (and anonymous posting), to track everyone is impossible. That is why so many are safe, in my opinion. That is why so many exes have felt that it's been safer to speak out. Anonymous supports them by the numbers, and diffuses the attention. It's invaluble.

I will me making a claim for a refund of donations. If the admins don't comply, a lawsuit is in order.

It was after his first or second protest, but yes, they went to his work place as well.

I was specifically responding, though, to the fact that they had him prosecuted for something he didn't do (which Gumby implied does not happen); he was only exonerated after a long legal battle, inability to protest, and lots of generously donated monies.

I think sparrow was more the exception than the rule. Do you think an ex scientologist has more to fear from the cult than say an ordinary citizen?

I am curious as to why this concerns you, especially due to your professed disdain for the site and repeated claims that you never visit wwp. One might accidentally get the feeling you're a pot-stirrer, gumby.

It's interesting that on an Internet board where the mantra "dox or STFU" is the norm, and where I was continually being asked for dox, in pm's & open forum, that Sue would ban me for doing what was asked of me. Not once did Sue or any mod pm a warning, or a complaint that I was doxing inappropriately, though there were some anonymous posts challenging me on this. I never took anonymous challenges serious given the level of trolls that were posted in that manner.

Then I was viciously attacked in a thread with Sue's blessing. Anons were not the only ones privy to that thread. I received phone calls & emails from journalists, including one writing a book on the cult, and attorneys, that expressed their disgust for the thread & said it only made Scientology look like the good guys when they are attacking Anonymous.

It's sad.

Dox?

Well, of course. Scientology has all of their life info and they also have to worry about disconnection.

But that doesn't mean the non-Scientologist has nothing to fear. I think it depends on how high-profile or effective they are in the critic scene (see: Andreas Heldal-Lund). It's difficult to gauge, but even IF the average protester has nothing to fear (which I don't necessarily agree with), the anonymity factor had the CoS working overtime (and perhaps still does), which made the odds of speaking out and getting things done without fear of having your life ruined a possibility.

Donations are "an act or instance of presenting something as a gift, grant, or contribution." They're given of free will, with no strings attached such as the inability of the donor to get banned for not following forum/site rules.

Q: How do you know Herro isn't OSA? Do you mean to tell me that Herro is just an ordinary guy who loves to contradict ex- scienos or defend the effing cult? His feeble attempts to seem unbiased are just unbelievable to me.
