Youtube has redesigned it's channels to be boring, corporate and bland. I thought I was the only one who hated it. I'm not! But in March all channels will be forced to change.

There is a boycott this weekend of youtube. Don't watch youtube. Turn off your videos to hide them for two days. NO income for google to protest being forced to change.

Seriously, who many do you think are going to avoid YouTube for 2 days? It's like asking all the social media addicts to avoid Facebook & Twitter for 2 days.

It is rather shit.
I don't mind attempts to make things neater and organised but managing to hide information and at the same time make it more clunky to use is quite some achievment.

Overuse of Flash, or whatever it is, for almost everything that's clickable rather than clever use of normal html always gets a thumbs down in my book anyway.

You have to wonder whether the people that come up with this shit actually use youtube for its itended purpose on a regular basis.

As long as I can upload my videos and they are accessible, I don't really care what the site looks like. I was pissed off when Yahoo! decided to change the look on it's emails and chose not to provide users the option of keeping the original format which was alot easier to read. Some change is inevitable.

They used to allow attractive youtube channel designs for free. Now they are forcing everyone to have a shitty design for free.

I'm sure the next step is forcing people to pay to be able to customize their own youtube channel like they used to do for free.

Even if you don't care it is really hard to find things like "message me" or "block" that used to be obvious.
