Josh Robert Thompson, Geoff on Late Late Show, out of CoS

Josh is the voice of Geoff, a gay robot skeleton side-kick to Craig Ferguson, and several CoS rags list him as a speaker or participant. If 1.1 tone level is gay, and 0.0 is death* (Geoff is aware that he is...dead), then how can Geoff be so cheerful? At least he's free of body thetans, being a skeleton. CoS has no policy on robots becoming self-aware and needing Scientology, so I don't know how the robotic part fits in.

Josh, you should have said no to being a featured Scientology speaker, especially on the asbestos-barge Freewinds, and being listed in various Scientology magazines. I wonder if they twisted your robot arm. Take a tour of the engine room and imagine Valeska Paris trapped down there. **

This article shows that CoS celebs often work in pairs, with one of the pair being the really-devout CoS member who keeps the other little lamb away from conversations against Scientology. The author saw Josh paired with Govanni Ribisi in Avatar: the Game.

Meskimen also seems to be handling Josh Robert Thompson:

If Meskimen and Nancy Cartwright get good voice-over jobs, and are pulling Josh into big projects, that makes it hard for him to publicly quit. The two may refuse to work with him if he openly leaves, and they may be pressuring him to speak at Scientology courses. I imagine that the courses are easy gigs - Josh can do his amazing Morgan Freeman and other impersonations, and talk for a few minutes about how he got into voice work, and a very few words of appreciation for Scientology courses that helped with confidence...and he's done. But by taking money for teaching courses, he presents himself as Scientology leader, persuader, and recruiter, rather than as a student who just wandered in the door. He needs to inform himself and learn how to say "no."

That makes no sense. They don't work with each other. They share a bond of being voice over-actors.

Jenna Elfman somehow got a lot of Scientologist actors on Dharma and Greg. I assume animation work is also who-you-know. The big voice-over roles often go to known actors and actresses like Zac Efron and Drew Barrymore, so for aspiring new voice actors it must be hard to break in. Taking one little course on Freewinds is not a magic ticket.

They are making pretty funny Tom Cruise jokes all the time on the Craig Ferguson show though, and Craig also has a version of the Tom Cruise video out that's very well done:

But I guess it goes to show just how infiltrated Hollywood is.

EDIT: I can't help noticing though that the Tom Cruise jokes have become more ambiguous recently. Sometimes Craig says things to the effect of "I know I have been making fun of Tom Cruise, but you have to understand Tom Cruise is AWESOME!!".
I am wondering if this is an effect that is related to the permanent presence of Thompson on the show, where his role has been growing over the months. It actually has become quite rare to see Craig without the Skeleton sidekick.

I tape & watch Craig Ferguson every weeknight, and Craig is a mix of sex jokes and sensitivity. I can't remember him mocking any religion, and unlike Leno he doesn't do teacher-sex-with-students jokes, prison rape jokes, people-are-so-stupid, or fat jokes. He even spoke out against the mockery Charlie Sheen was getting for acting mentally ill. When guests go too far he talks back, looks at the camera and says, "this is a welcoming show."
Penis jokes...rueful jokes about his old druggie-and-drinking days...gay jokes, aimed at himself and "Geoff..." Oh yeah.

So, we're going to get laughs, not big religious issues, on his show.

There are different kinds of voice over work, not just those found in movie cartoons. TV commercials, radio ads, sitcoms, and TV games shows all use voice-over actors that don't have the caliber of Drew Barrymore.

Voice-over work is lucrative for those that have the talent & connections.

I am watching the Late Late Show frequently and I can not help noticing that Craig's stance toward Tom Cruise has been slowly shifting over recent months.

The most recent example is this the beginning of this segment right here in which Tom Cruise is described as "a nice guy"... "all about eye contact".
Craig also says he recently met Cruise briefly.
