Stop the Killing!

Kansas City takes action...

It’s about time somebody did something about this place!

With a crime rate of 71 per one thousand residents, Kansas City has one of the highest crime rates in America.

One's chances of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Kansas City is 1 in 14 making it one of the top 100 most dangerous cities in the U.S.A.

But now... someone is doing something about it!


Stop The Killing KC’ is a coalition of 75 Kansas City, Missouri area churches and community improvement groups dedicated to making an impact on the violent crime and homicide rates in their community.

On Thursday, April 12, Al Adriance and 11 other members of ‘Stop The Killing KC’ handed out 1,200 The Way To Happiness booklets at a major intersection in a high crime area of the City: the intersection of Linwood Blvd and Prospect Avenue.


The Way to Happiness booklets handed out carried the logo and contact information for ‘Stop The Killing KC’.

Over the next 6 hours eighty three (83) calls came in to ‘Stop The Killing KC’ in response to the distribution. The calls consisting of dozens of tips on unsolved violent crimes, dozens more calls offering to volunteer with ‘Stop The Killing KC’, plus requests for assistance with housing, employment, mentoring and tutoring.


Two days latter, on 14 April, Mr. Greg Capazorio, President of Criminon International, briefed members of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department and community activists on the Criminon Program and particularly the use of The Way to Happiness in criminal rehabilitation and community crime reduction. This briefing was attended by high-ranking police officials, senior officers and members of ‘Stop The Killing KC’, who had participated in The Way to Happiness distribution on April 12, as well as citizens concerned about inner-city crime rates.

As a result of the briefing, attendees learned that something effective can be and has been done to drastically reduce criminal behavior and crime. They learned that everywhere The Way to Happiness has been broadly distributed, be it South Africa, Mexico, Colombia or Hollywood and Compton, California the results are always the same: a forty to sixty percent reduction in crime.

Attendees were all given samples of the ‘Stop The Killing KC’ chapter’s custom cover The Way to Happiness booklets following the briefing and ’Stop The Killing KC’ leaders committed to immediate purchase of 10,000 copies of The Way to Happiness with “Stop The Killing KC’ custom covers.


High-ranking members of the Churches and Community Groups that form ‘Stop the Killing KC’ committed to work with Civic and Governmental Groups to expand the funding and distribution base in order to get The Way to Happiness into the hands of the general public on an even broader scale. They have proposals out to several key groups for matching grants to help fund this expansion.

The following weekend 1,200 more The Way to Happiness books were handed out, for a total of 2,400 booklets. This was followed by two weeks of zero homicides. Your donation will help continue this trend.
