“I thought I was in danger. I was in the band to play music not be part of a secret religion. It got to the stage where they said join us or leave. They were a strange bunch.”

JIVE Ace Ian Clarkson last night blasted the suggestion he was brainwashing people into becoming Scientologists.

they might be well known in the "Grab a Granny" Circuit...

They Mostly are supported and promoted by Scientology...its mostly just Scientologist that know who they are...

the play alot Jazz Festivals..I heard the fees they ask for are Cheap...they are a novelty act .they show up play ...had out Scientology Propaganda... they are asked not to return..

they are Perfect for Scientology stuck in a timewarp...

They play swing music which Hubbard liked, and therefore every good CoS member is supposed to like.

They may appeal to the elderly who grew up in that era of swingtime and jazz, and also possibly at their most vulnerable.

Who watches Britain's got Talent, mainly the very young and the elderly.

Now wait a minute! I guess since I am in my seventies that makes me another "geezer" enamoured with the Jive music of the Fifties and Lawrence Welk and all that. No thanks! Right now I am doing some research on Led Zeppelin, the Allman Brothers and Miles Davis. Now, my Sci relative who is 13 years younger used to like Jimi Hendrix and The Doors. Now he only listens to the insipid music favored by the cult and thinks it is just groovy. That makes him the geezer, not me.

^^ Stairway to Heaven is one of my favorite songs of all times (the other one is The House of Rising Sun by Animals).
I love Hendrix and the Doors. Don’t know anything about the Allman Brothers.

Off topic, but anyway the younger Allman bro Duane was rated #2 of the best 100 guitar players after Hendrix #1 by Rolling Stone after Duane's death at age 24 in 1971. That is until just recently when they moved Clapton into his spot and shifted Duane to #9. You can just look it up if you are interested.

Correction, Duane Allman is the older one by 13 months.
