One action that can really help a person who has left a cult, or any coercively deleterious relationship, is to write their story. Stephen Hassan says this in his book, Releasing the Bonds. Alexandra Stein says it in her book, Terror, Love & Brainwashing, and explains how and why it works. I did this over a two year period, resulting in a 400 page manuscript. I posted much of it in the Your story from inside Scientology section of this message board. I can vouch for the therapeutic value of doing this.

I am still involved in deprogramming activity and I think I will be going through it for the rest of my life. There's always some little thing popping up. There's also this: not everything that I'm deprogramming came from Scientology.

I hope Vicki Marshall and others come here to this message board occasionally and check it out.
