What Would It Take for You to Become a Scientologist?
|
|
|
Despite Mr. Hubbard's claim, Tom Cruise has never publicly demonstrated his OT abilities by lifting a car off the road. I am factually disappointed in Mr. Cruise because this is exactly the type of evidence that would convince skeptics that OT powers are real.
My question to you Madam or Sir: What would it take for you to become a Scientologist? What would Scientology have to prove, do, or say that would convince you, beyond the shadow of doubt, to become a Scientologist?

I like the probably in LRH quote. So probably a Jedi could do the same.
I am digging deep and about all I can come up with is a lobotomy. Or I guess R2-45 will get me just as much as any scientologist will ever expect to get out of it.

A grim, yet thoughtful analysis that illustrates the unattractiveness of Scientology. As American political leaders use to say when I was growing up in the Cold War: Better dead than Red.
Atheist, would a set of deluxe, limited edition, leather-bound LRH books change your mind?

Eugh! Tacky!
Reminds me of the deluxe and the wedding editions of Mein Kampf.
I cannot come up with anything that would convince me to ever go back into scientology.
I tried.
$100,000,000,000,000. Nope.
David Miscavige pushes an egg around the planet with his nose twice. Nope. (Though I would like to see that.)
I get to be lord god king of scientology. Nope. Definitely not. _________________ Reading List: http://www.worldcat.org./profiles/Wieber/lists/563909 scientology is a cult. -1 +1 "Then they fight you, then you win." Gandhi. scientology, check your six. |

Hmmm. This is a toughie, Swift. I would say that I would consider it if any of the following abilities could be achieved:
1. Flying
2. Seeing through walls
3. Never growing physically old
4. Singing and dancing like Beyonce
Other than that I am pretty happy with my life the way it is, even though my eyesight and memory aren't perfect. I thought about the perfect memory thing, but I'm not sure I'd want it. _________________ Scientology and Human Trafficking? You decide.

I'mglib you should know by now that in order to have 1, 2 and 3 on your list you have to be from Krypton. _________________ Reading List: http://www.worldcat.org./profiles/Wieber/lists/563909 scientology is a cult. -1 +1 "Then they fight you, then you win." Gandhi. scientology, check your six. |

Would I join to see Glibby "Singing and dancing like Beyonce".... hmmm, tempting, but no.
As I'm sure that so many on this board who have been staff and/or Sea Org would tell you, there is no f#cking way I would consider rejoining the "church" of $cientology, or any other organization that used $cientology tech or admin. That tech and admin is mostly used to control individuals and to inflate the egos and power trips of those who use it. Even if it were used altruistically, IT DOES NOT WORK! It is NOT WORKABLE TECHNOLOGY!
So, thank you, but NO!!! _________________ See Ya, Bye! |

Bloody hell Swifty! Thats one heck of a thread to start. Question posed. What would it take for me to become a scientologist? Hmmm. Lets see what ( I ) view as things needed in my life up to this point to make myself happy, secure and self confident.
1. Health. I am in perfect health
2. Family. I have a wonderful family life.
3. Career. Very very fortunate to be in a very creative industry.
4. Financial security. Yes, within our american system as it is now.
5. Spirituality. Very comfortable in that respect.
6. Freedom. Got that in spades.
I would say scientology has nothing to offer me. The question is moot. _________________ Gumby the POLY WOG, a MULTI TASKING critic with Amphibian capabilities.

I dont know Swift that is some fancy looking toilet paper.
If they wanted to get my attention then they would have to perform magic.
And that is only as long as it takes me to figure out the science of it.

There is nothing that would convince me to become a $cientologist because all of LRH’s promises were lies. So far I’ve never seen a $cientologist fly or read minds. All I’ve seen are $cientologists that live in crowded apartments and drive old beat up cars while spending all their time and money for the promise of OT powers. When they should realize that they can’t walk through walls or kill with a death stare, they’ve wasted years and spent thousands and they’re in so deep that they won’t even admit it to themselves.

8 ) All of the upper management would have to be jailed.
7 ) It would not only have to be totally free but would actually have pay me a stipend of 10 million dollars a year for me to be a member.
6 ) Anything Hubbard wrote would have to be thrown out along with anything Miscavige added.
5 ) No requirement to do any courses, donations or attend any events ever.
4 ) All regs forced to spend the rest of their lives working for charities causes that scientology deemed fake (i.e, Aids, Autism).
3 ) At least half of the money left in the Co$'s coffers used to help all of the people the Co$ has hurt over the years.
2 ) All of the still pretty female scienocelebs (i.e. Kelly Preston, Jenna Elfman, Leah Remini) would have to be my always ready & willing concubines who never uttered a word.
And the Number One thing it would take for me to become a scientologist:
1 ) Tom Cruise be relegated to doing a "Bozo the clown" daily TV show for kids in full costume for the rest of his life and nothing else plus has Tommy Davis as his sidekick/lackey (like a sideshow Mel) with their scripts written totally by child psychologists (and no ad-libing Tommys!).
And that's just to start! _________________

I like your list, RealityWillTell, but I'm still not coming back.
As for this item:

I would alter it slightly. Pee Wee Herman would be the star and boss of the show. The Tommy's would be very subservient to Pee Wee, be recognizable through the make up and get no funny lines. _________________ Reading List: http://www.worldcat.org./profiles/Wieber/lists/563909 scientology is a cult. -1 +1 "Then they fight you, then you win." So wieber something like his current acting.
As an atheist my mindset differs compared to many here.
Many of people here still look towards some higher power directing their lives or looking to be given acceptable answers to their questions.
I look for them on my own.
Scientology does those two items very well.
It gives the person a very pointed direction to go "up the bridge" and it gives excusses for the problems (answers, who ever want to look for why good things are happening to them) by blaming it on PT, withholds, pulling it in, or bodythetans.
Simple answers always go over better.
If you need an example of this look at the number of resent deaths of children whos parents tried to pray away their illness.
We here know the answers dont work but for too many still they dont sound like such a bad idea.
