Do Not Use 1-800-Ex-Sea-Org. Scientology owns the number now.

Karen#1 posted this in another thread. I have copied and pasted it into a separate thread to make it more visible. I think it's important this gets more visibility.

Mark Plummer posted a good alert that we should all know about.
Chuck Beatty for many years paid for an 800 number for escapees to call "I-800-Ex-Sea-Org.
Some 3 years ago he dropped the tel line. Now apparently OSA the black bag operation of the cult that does that programs intelligence hit squad activity and their obscene hate pages, now owns the line.
So if anyone calls the number, they get right into the teeth of Office of Special Affairs.

I'm going to call this number just for fun.

Why am I not surprised?

I called this number. It is not OSA. They offered me a free trip to Bahamas and a free medical alert device. The number itself is kind of weird -- it has 8 digits instead of 7.

First of all, the number that Chuck Beatty supported (and I also helped pay for for many years) was 1.800.XSEAORG.

I just call the number and it's some sort of medical alert scammy sounding recording, offering a free trip and medical alert.

Didn't sound OSAish to me.

Then it looks like I have been misinformed and there is no cause for any alarm.

People whine at me that in my videos I mock sea orgers without offering them a way out. What am I supposed to do? Send them to a halfway house run by Karen DLC? There is no such thing and she is doing enough as it is!

Sorry I'm not going to let ex-scis freak out while sleeping on my couch.

Sadly, there is no longer an underground railroad to get these people out.

There's more to getting cult members out of a cult than getting them physically out of contact with the organization.

I would argue that those who go back were not really out.

To everyone who has acted to get people out of Scientology, whether successful or not, what you have done is praiseworthy.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I just wanted to say that my cell phone number, 647-608-7336 has been visible with several forums that I am part of. I know it isn't a toll-free number, but in the past 8 years I've only gotten 2-3 calls, none of them were emergency escapes needing help, just "inquiries."

If 2-3 more people in different countries were equally reachable, I'd say that would be sufficient given the current decline of the corporation.
The price of escaping may be everything. I know. But when it feels like nothing is left, remember the only thing you need is to believe in yourself.

I supported this 800 number for years, but honestly it isn't how people get out these days. Today you can call an uber or get on Whatsapp or Facebook or a million other ways. If you don't get out of this scam because DM took over the 800 number then you aren't really going to get out. People need to have some agency in their lives, to be honest. It's not hard to find the door.

Step one: make a plan.
Step two: do not tell anyone about your plan unless you trust them completely. That way you cannot ever have a missed withhold about your plan and nothing about it will read on the e-meter.
Step two-a: do not tell anyone you have read this unless you trust them completely.
Step three: prepare
Step four: carry out your plan.
Step five: Don't go back for any reason.
