Science and Scientology

Post by duhast1 » Wed Feb 21, 2018 4:20 am

Scientology has just taught me something about Science. I had never been aware of how chock-a-block full Science is with such precise terms such as "...and so on and so forth", "...don't you see?", and "...so and so".

Such unprecedented exactitude is truly astounding.

Ahh . . . um . . . er

If you listen to a Scientology lecture, Hubbard does a lot of that. I think some of it was due to actual lapses. I suspect that some of it was done intentionally, as a hypnotic technique. I have read that Hubbard was skilled at hypnotism. He did have a distinct rhythmic pattern to his speaking in his lectures.

I do know that he could be disarmingly charming. When I was on staff for the organization we watched a film in which he made a presentation. It was just amazing how he immediately set everyone in the room at ease with a couple of words. (Back then the media available for this kind of thing was 16mm film. Video tapes came along a few years later.)

Reminds me of Holy Grail's Knits who say 'Ni', keepers of the sacred words 'Ni', 'Peng', and 'Neee-Wom'.

Maybe NOTS is the equivalent of the Knights no longer saying "Ni!" They are now the Knights who say "Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing!"
