Scientology loves it's naval metaphors, so. . .
If you think of each religion in the world as a ship, you can get all kinds of metaphors.
From the fleet of Christianity with all it's denominations, from the ornate old liner that is Catholicism to a various assortment of Protestant ships down to tiny skiffs with loyal and well-meaning crews. The Islamic, Judaic, Hindu, Shinto and Taoist ships are all well known and reasonably respected. Even the newer New Age and Neo-Pagan craft are somewhat legitimate but small ships, even if others look at them funny at times.
However, in the great ocean of Religion, Scientology is the rusty pirate ship made of salvaged debris of satanic cults, pseudo-gnostic garbage and hokey science fiction, all powered by dubious pseudoscience. The crew is a motley blend of savage pirates out to get as much money and sink every other ship, and gullible dupes who think they're on a really first class outfit. They've taken multiple hits below the waterline, normal damage control procedures are failing miserably, crew are bailing out and going to more reputable ships, and their main strategy appears to be to ignore the hits and keep shooting at the crew (often when they are leaving, sometimes not). ~ All Hail Xenu

"I described to him how God would compensate the martyr for sacrificing his life for his land. If you become a martyr, God will give you 70 virgins, 70 wives and everlasting happiness."

Sorry Lucy, I’m afraid some ships are better left afloat than others! There is no way BH shall ever be denied an opportunity to share eternity with 140 navels! Sure beats a billion years on planet earth working for a bunch of scientologist!

"The mind lives in the past because it lives in
knowledge. Knowledge means that which you have known, understood,
learned. And existence is now and the mind is then, existence is here
and the mind is there. The mind looks backwards; it is like a rearview
mirror. If you are backing your car the rearview mirror is OK, but if
you are going forwards then it is dangerous to go on looking in the
rearview mirror. And if you become fixated on the rearview mirror you
are bound to have an accident. You are in great danger, you are being
suicidal. Life always moves forwards; there is no possibility of going
backwards." - from the book "The ABCs of Enlightenment" - Osho
