There are several mountains of old names accumulated in this message board. If you poke around there are other things that aren't perfect. I used to go back and delete names, but some names might be spam and some might be real. Several long-inactive people have come back to visit, and they often have passed a "get a new password" milestone and already have to re-register, so I try not to make their life any more difficult.

My mod powers are only for approving posts, redacting personal info like home addresses, redacting violence threats, deleting spam and porn, and banning spammers or those who violate rules (for example we used to have private messages and blabbing what somebody said in confidence on a private message was a warning and then a banning offense).

I have to ban names one at a time so it is quite tedious to clean up the attic of this board, and I have a whole other life. So, I just concentrate on the active topics and try to contribute as needed.

Seems to me that the writers of message board code should be able to have a tool with sort functions, i.e. sort by date, sort by # of posts, etc. Name X, registered 15 years ago, zero posts and a gibberish username....well, it's too bad you have no such tool...
