My theory is that somehow adopting Bella drove them back to Scientology. This would fit the rumor that Bella had scieno birth parents. Bella was a huge carrot that drew them back in (come back to COS and you get this baby).

This fits perfectly with what BFG said (that they left COS and came back), and what the Vanity Fair article said (where Nicole says there's some mystery story about Bella's adoption).
I ask how she came to be such a young mother, and Kidman admits that she wanted to have children from the age of 17. She was 22 when she met Cruise, and "from the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies." She pauses, "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that's when it came that we should adopt Bella." Cryptically, she adds, "There's a complicated background to that, given that I never speak much about many things. One day maybe that story will be told. So that's the way it came up, and we adopted Bella when I was 25."
If Bella's birth parents were Scientologists, there may be some codicil in the adoption paperwork that nullifies the adoption should either adoptive parent publicly leave or be expelled from CoS.

Kidman has obviously left Scientology even though she didn't stand on a rooftop or post to the net. Seems to me if they did get their babies from Scientology parents, it would presumably - most likely - be from Sea Org couples who wouldn't have been allowed to keep them anyway, let alone have any say in anything what happened to them in the future. Can't see that the cult would have any say in that event, either.

Hey Songbird, hee hee. I know. I must have forgotten to hit the sarcasm button on my keyboard. Der!

Dave Touretsky writes on a.r.s. re BFG's stats on Nicole's cult completions:
He got one fact wrong. Nicole Kidman did not stop at just a few intro
courses. She made it all the way up to OT II. (Bruce Hines confirms
this.) She refused to go on to do OT III, though, and that may have
reinforced Tom's view that she was PTS.

BFG, you also wrote - sorry, don't mean for this to sound like a frickin' sec check, just being as pedantic as possible here:
Tom actually ended up dating a Spanish gal he met in Spain while opening up a new org there with Dave.
Did you mean the Madrid org? Because Tom was with Penelope Cruz from 2001 to early 2004 and the Madrid org opening was September 18, 2004. Cruz did attend the opening, apparently to show her "support" for her good friend, Tom. Did you mean another Spanish org opening?

Looking forward to your next installment.

Especially wouldn't mind knowing about the whisperings in Vaucluse.. and also why Nicole was wiretapped in 2005 at her home. Was that perp ever discovered?

http://www.eonline.com/news/article/ind ... ntry=index

I'm also interested in where all this recent negative press on Nicole is "originating." If she went up to OTII, as Touretsky says, the CoS has plenty of "dirt" on her. But that's a two-way street seems to me. She's got plenty of information on their current star posterboy. If he and his "church" are conducting an op to distance the children from her, I'm guessing she's pretty upset. I'm guessing those children's extended family in Australia aren't exactly thrilled, either.

What if Bellas real SO parents blew?

I think SM is right that there'd be some clause in the adobtion papers 'securing' the cults interests.

Remember? Huh?

Why is it that Germany is up in arms of Cruise's involvement in the Valkeries film? Here's a guy who
currently shills for a totalitarian cult ($cn,) yet wants to play a hero role of a man who tried to stop the same in the 1940's Nazi
domination scam. Remember?

BFG
BFG!!!!!! Noooooooooooo! You can't leave us hanging like that!!! Of all the TC craziness, this mystery is killing me! Please please please come back and expound!!! I just can't believe that little girl is biologically Cruise's. Although her eyes do look like Katie's. I assumed she was already pregnant when she was brought in for Tom to "evaluate." Is it Chris Klein's? Does he know?? Ok, I'm sounding crazy, but the teaser on this was too much. Fill us in!

:eatpointer:

P.S. Regarding Penelope, I assumed the Spanish woman BFG referred to was someone else - Is Cruz known for any soft porn? I haven't heard that.

LOL. I'd love to know how the cult's interests would be represented in court if there were any such clause in the adoption papers! Gimme a clue, someone!

To take you back ITC, in case you aren't aware that Nicole, like most of Tom's women, had little to do career-wise while they were married to him (or not; just with him) -

I wrote
That's really interesting. So before the split, in the time he and Nicole had Conner and Bella, they were non-Scientology parents together, with Tom doing a lot of movies, and Nicole being the primary parent at home with the nannies. Was she a "good mother" then? Dunno. Does she have the opportunity to be a good mother now? I have no idea, frankly.
There were questions - not exactly embedded, but obvious, I thought, in what I wrote in response to BFG.

Looking forward to BFG or Alert getting back on this when they can.

In the meantime, it's really none of anyone's business (here)(there) .. Or is it? Is the welfare of children who are suspected victims of destructive cults like Scientology other people's business, and if not, why not? Should Family and Children's Services be concerned?

Suzanne Marie and ITC, what exactly are you defending here?

I think it was probably her.

I've heard rumors about the "girl on girl" stuff with her.

I don't think it was her. Just before the part about the Spanish girl, BFG wrote, "Dave wanted to at least limit Tom to Scientologist tail. He basically went over this with Tom and it was agreed, Tom went along with it." So it would follow that the Spanish actress he met at the opening of a Spanish org was already a Scientologist.

Also, from the way it's written, I think the only way it could be Cruz is if BFG had no idea that Tom was ever involved with Cruz, which is unlikely.

I will ITC, if you first admit that there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that you’re really some love-struck teen, with no connection to Scientology whatsoever, who happens to be so enamored with a middle-aged, washed-up, has-been, cult front-monkey, that he/she spends 14 hours a day covering a message board.

Just admit that right now you’re wearing a paramilitary navy uniform, chain smoking in an org somewhere, assigned to handle “Cruise pr” issues, and I’ll answer your question.

Let me add the viewpoint of someone outside CoS who nonetheless kept up with all the Tom Cruise gossip, since my own CoS relative raved about Tom Cruise. Once Tom joined CoS, the story the public got was that he was a big star who happened to be a scientologist. Whether he spoke up or not, whether he was actively taking courses or not, the media treated him as a loyal CoS member. Nobody much followed the Mimi Rogers marriage and divorce.

The media adored the Cruise-Kidman marriage. They were the top power couple, oozing beauty and youth. People didn't quite believe that Nicole was REALLY a Scientologist, since she still talked about her Catholic upringing.

The Kidman divorce was a disaster for Cruise, since Nicole appeared heartbroken and everyone blamed him. Tom didn't let Penelope Cruz walk the red carpet with Tom for fear they'd run into Nicole. For years, Tom himself avoided the red carpet and sitting in the audience at award shows. When Cruise broke up with Cruz, nobody seemed sad - it seemed like an awkward match from the beginning.

Tom made a huge mistake breaking with Pat Kingsley, his tough shrewd publicist, who protected him from embarassing questions and stopped him from spouting Scientology dogma and bashing psychiatrists. Over the years, Tom occasionally came out and put his foot in his mouth, but Pat Kingsley always smoothed things over and made the incident forgettable.

On his own, with his Scientologist-sister as publicist, Tom started spiraling out of control. He criticized new Mom Brooke Shields for her book advocating psychiatric help for post partum depression. Even after an apology, some people distrusted Tom and thought he showed a mean streak.

Then the total insanity started. Whatever the back story on the Katie Holmes-Tom Cruise arrangement, Tom looked insane jumping on Oprah's couch and French-kissing his pregnant unmarried girlfriend at his son's soccer matches. Go to www.defamer.com and search for Katie Holmes to find just one of the huge piles of mockery for this relationship.

The baby Suri caused new speculation by being hidden for so long, as if to conceal its exact date of birth. The wedding caused a media frenzy, but nothing different from other celeb weddings. Now they're just another married couple with a toddler and two children from his previous marriage - there's no magic left to mine. Meanwhile, Tom continues to look less and less like a 21-year-old action hero.

So, from a curious outsider's point of view, Tom is sinking slowly into has-been-land and who-cares-ville.
