John Sweeney's last investigation into the Church of Scientology resulted in an explosive confrontation with church officials. This time, in a Panorama Special, one of those officials has turned whistleblower to help him reveal the dark secrets of the church, which boasts Hollywood A-listers Tom Cruise and John Travolta amongst its devotees.

btw, this special programme is an hour long, a proper hour that is (since the BBC in the UK doesn't have commercial breaks).

Shall we start a 'footbullet' betting pool? Make your best guess on the timing, type, and scale of Co$ response to this.

Which will it be?
A terse bawww letter vaguely accusing Sweeney of being unprofessional while listing the alleged good works of Applied Scholastics and Narconon?

A glitzy distraction blitz to 'show' how Scientology has expanded more in the past two weeks than in the previous 75 million years, complete with a gold-plated, triple life-size statue of BFFs Tom and Dave?

A lolsuit accusing BBC execs of raping puppies?

Let the bidding commence.

--An appearance by Tommy Davis -- who will say -- scientology has opened three new idle orgs in 2010 -- and -- to find out the "truth" about scientology come to one of its churches (orgs).

--Another issue of Freedom in which John Sweeny, the BBC, and the British governing entities will be purported to be deviant criminals. This will also contain further attacks on Mike Rinder, Marty Rathbun, Marc Headley, Nancy Many, Amy Scobee and Jeff Hawkins. It will have material on the new idle orgs, the volunteer ministers in Haiti -- and -- it will tell people to find out the "truth" about scientology come to one of its churches (orgs).

--Scientology will take further legal action against Brian Mandigo for his involvement in collaborating with John Sweeney and the BBC. (What? But Brian Mandigo never even met John Sweeney. Exactly.)

--Scientology will have big IAS funding events and get permits to close the streets wherever they have idle orgs, especially in Los Angeles and Washington DC. These events (in addition to pressuring the flock for more money) will be designed to show the public at large how wonderful scientology really is but the public at large will never get the message due to scientology's white-sheet-tech that will keep anyone who is not a scientologist from seeing what goes on in the event.

--Tom Cruise and John Travolta will do the talk show circuit promoting how nice they are. Oprah will collaborate.

Sweeney's having quite a lot of fun with this.
Somewhere in a cult desert compound, a little dwarf is about to explode.

There's previously unseen footage of Rinder from the 2007 Scientology & Me Panorama programme, in close up and animated. He looks much worse than what we saw of him standing in the background on the original broadcast. Quite shockingly bad. Frail, skin'n'bones.

Imagine what Heber Jentzsch must look like by now.

The scientologists are giving the mirror copies of the promo videos the thumbs down on Youtube. Nice to know they are interested :). On the first promo there was only 1 dislike and now there's 38 (93 likes). On the new one just put up today, there's 23 dislikes, 17 likes).

If you haven't rated the videos, go to the OP links for the mirror videos and give them the thumbs up.

Just added to the OP:

BBC Panorama News report:
John Sweeney revisits the Church of Scientology
http://news.bbc.co.uk/panorama/hi/front ... 032278.stm

snippet...
During our time in America for the latest Panorama, we were once again followed by people filming us, this time more openly than before. When we approached the people with cameras to ask them who they were with and what they were doing, they refused to answer our questions.

That is why I was somewhat grateful to Scientology's UK lawyers at Carter-Ruck when they sent the BBC photographs of me hugging Amy Scobee at the end of a long and at times harrowing series of interviews about her experiences.

The photographs were meant to demonstrate to my bosses at the BBC, once again, that I must be biased against the church as I was overly familiar with its critics.

This was, oddly enough, welcome proof that the people who had been following and filming us in the States were indeed working for the Church of Scientology. As Mike Rinder had said, I was not being paranoid - I was being followed.

Another report, a 2-page spread in today's the Sunday Times.

Headline reads:
Mr Shouty and Cruise: the rematch

Click this or the image for a large readable version

Alternative arangment, black text on white readable image:

Link to the subscription-only Sunday Times web article:
Mr Shouty and Tom Cruise: the big rematch
http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/new ... 403573.ece
Update: You can read the full web text online here.....
http://dialogueireland.wordpress.com/20 ... day-times/

Here's some text snippets...
Rinder claims that the messages coming from Miscavige's office to him and Davis while they were following us were often bizarrely abusive.
Once example: "YSCOHB".... And then the next message would be, "Well did you figure it out yet?". That would be like five seconds after the one before. "Did you figure it out yet? come on. Answer, answer, answer". And what YSCOHB stood for was, "You Suck Cock On Hollywood Boulevard".
Before the 2007 Panorama shouty episode aired and after the cult's recording of the shouty incident had hit the internet and the news media, John Sweeney describes in the article how concerned he was at first that he'd let his team down but then...
John Sweeney, Sunday Times wrote:And then our programme went out. Viewers saw the creepy private eyes on my case, Davis drilling into me - "bigot, bigot, bigot" - scientologists ambushing our interviews, and a funny thing happened: the law of unintended consequences kicked in.
The Great British public, who pay my wages, like a laugh but they also have a deep sense of fair play. Once they saw the full documentary, not just explosion but what led up to it, the emails came in, thousands of them. Green Watch of Lambeth River Fire Brigade, said: "You should have punched that chap." (or another word beginning with c.)
In talking about the new panorama documentary, Amy Scobee and the Headley's are mentioned in the article. Also the fact that auditing sessions are routinely recorded using hidden cameras with the A-lister's room having a two-way mirror with a video camera behind it. Claire Headley tells of how she saw tapes of Cruise being audited by Marty Rathbun, telling him things that he would not want people to know.

None of those. It is UK time, British Summer Time. But that's the TV broadcast time. It goes up on the BBC iplayer site after it has been broadcast.
In anycase, you won't be able to watch it on BBC iPlayer outside the UK but you can be sure that someone will have it up online somewhere else for download not too long after broadcast.
There is also talk that someone in the uk may attempt to stream live it from a webcam pointed at their TV and have a chat party, lol.

Tory, it may take a couple of hours for the Panorama prog to appear on iPlayer, and even then, if you're outside the UK (as you are) you'll only be able to view it via a proxy.

I'm recording the programme, and the second the end credits finish I'll be packaging it up and uploading it to YouTube. As it's an hour long show, I'll have to split it into four sections (thankfully YouTube have extended their video time length to 15mins 59 secs!) but I reckon I'll be uploading it about half an hour after the programme finishes. I'll be posting links on my channel the moment it's live.

Mike.
